Well, the old ‘80’s show about the oil tycoon family, the great Dallas Ewings and Southfork Ranch has finally made it to the film adaptation stage. Great news for anyone that was a fan of this long time prime time soap opera, but not great news for casting directors. It seems Paris Hilton has gotten wind of this production in the works and wants to be cast as a member of the Ewing family.

According to a movie insider: “In her mind she is already part of Hollywood royalty by being a Hilton, so she thinks it will be perfect casting.”

“She’s actually a bit surprised the producers haven’t thought of this themselves.”

Yup. That noise is me laughing out loud, REALLY loud. Because I guess it hasn’t occurred to Paris that acting is about showing range, becoming characters that you’ve never experienced before, and giving them reality and edge based on talent. Acting is not about pretending your rich family is an oil family instead of a hotel family. Yes, it is surprising the producers haven’t thought of it themselves, when they were making up their “DO NOT CALL BACK” list.
