It seems that the pet store that is the source of all the latest arm candy for celebrities is under investigation. The Los Angeles Dept. of Animal Regulation has just shut down the Pets of Bel Air, the source for all puppy love to many stars like Robin Williams, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Demi Moore. Pets of Bel Air apparently has not been keeping their permits active, and their current permits have been expired for more than three years! While the store has 48 hours to resubmit their permits, they are still undergoing some heat for being linked to puppy mills. The HSUS, Humane Society of the United States has video footage linking the store to puppy mills in Kansas, Iowa, Oaklahoma, and Missouri. I doubt many celebs are going to want to be linked to any kind of puppy mill publicity so this may be the beginning of the end for Pets of Bel Air. Well, most won’t, but those celebs that thrive on ANY publicity, good OR bad will probably be just as thrilled to see their name in print for whatever reason that may be. I mean, I’m not mentioning any names, but Britney Spears was apparently just spotted shopping there last weekend… and picked up a new puppy chihuahua.
