I will let you fill in the blank on this one. Ever since Lucy Liu became an instant A-Lister again with her hit ‘Cashmere Mafia’ she’s been just about everywhere and spotted wearing the most outrageous pieces. Hmmm, sound familiar? Yeah, wasn’t that Sex and the City girl all into the funky fashion finds as well? Right, me thinks Lucy Liu may be trying a little too hard when it comes to the spotlight here, because well, let’s face it, noone can top Sarah Jessica Parker. If you have seen ‘Cashmere Mafia’ then you know it’s a hit in the making, and fans of Sex and the City can have their fixes nixed almost as well with this show. ‘Cashmere Mafia’ comes from the creators of Sex and the City it embodies the same 4 girls in New York chumming and going through life together kind of theme. In this case, all 4 women are big wig executives – CEO’s, VP, etc. and so there is just an added touch of ‘more money’ to the theme, but it really is the same story. And Lucy Liu does very well in it with her top billing. Again, noone can ever be Sarah but Sarah, but I think if Lucy just lets that go, she will find her own cornered niche with this show. Let’s see how the season runs out…..
