Last week the happy and goofy life of Cameron Diaz was interrupted with the tragic and sudden death of her father, Emilio, who died of pneumonia last Tuesday. Emilio had been diagnosed with flu a few weeks earlier and passed away suddenly in his home. Cameron recently held the memorial for her father in Seal Beach, California. She asked the attendees to wear colors in celebration of her dads life and she also asked that no flowers be brought. Instead, donations were accepted on Emilio’s behalf for two ocean protection charities. Guests respected Cameron’s wishes, and donned Hawaiian shirts to help her celebrate her father’s life. You know your good friends will come out in times like these, and Cameron is definitely not short on that. She received support from many noted guests, including Justin Timberlake, and another former boyfriend, John Mayer. Emilio is survived by Cameron, his wife Billie, and Cameron’s older sister Chimene. Our thoughts and our hearts are with Cameron and her family.
