Miley Cyrus is seen here catering to her quest for the finer things in life as she shops in L.A. at the trendy boutiques ‘Intuition’ and ‘Harmony Lane’. The girls followed their shopping spree with lunch at ‘The California Pizza Kitchen’. And Miley’s expensive tastes are not secluded to her shopping extravaganzas, as, even at the ripe age of 15 she is living life Hollywood style in every way shape and form. Mind you, she does have a big heart to go with her big tastes as will be seen at her Sweet 16 party this October. She will hold her party at Disneyland in California in October and is expected to be asking her ‘guests’ to pay a cover charge to attend. When was the last time YOU had to pay to get into someone’s birthday party I ask? This is a girl, stress, GIRL, teenage girl at that, who earned a reported $19 MILLION dollars last year and giving a charge per head at her birthday party. The party itself will feature fireworks display and a live performance, and as Miley describes ‘with more than seven things I like’. But mind you, there is a method to her madness here, Miley does not intend to keep the ‘proceeds’ from her birthday party. She will be using the ticket charge to raise funds for Youth Service America, an organization that helps to improve the lives of young people aged five to twenty-five. On her charity work, Miley says ‘There’s only one world, and we got to take care of it’. If you’d like to attend Miley’s bash, tickets will go on sale on August 30th, with the big extravaganza taking place on October 5th, a month before Miley turns 16.

It seems the sun has barely set on the intimate sunset wedding ceremony for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi and the two are already dealing with baby rumors. Here they are seen shortly before their wedding running errands in Los Angeles and enjoying a quiet Saturday morning together at the Book Soup store on Sunset Strip. The ‘well read’ couple left the store carrying bags of magazines and books. I wonder if baby names books was on the agenda this weekend, as it sounds like both Ellen and Portia have been talking baby talk for some time now, even before the wedding. They are torn between the joys and blessings of the unconditional love that children bring, and the freedom from responsibilities that childless life brings. They think the freedom without children may seem like a selfish choice, but in my opinion, the selfish connotation only stems from the judgments of others. They want to enjoy married life a little bit longer before they make a final commitment to children, and they certainly should given how long they have waited for each other. Ellen ahs joked about having kids, shock, saying that she wants to be a mom to ‘pretty kids’ and that ‘If they would be as pretty as Brad and Angelina’s kids, we might’. Ah yes, if only we all had the gene pool that the Brangelina’s do. Overall, it’s not something they take lightly, and as everything else in Hollywood, anything can happen here. You know what happens when couples first start ‘talking’ about kids……

It seems that ever since Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds got engaged, all they have been doing is putting it off. They rarely talk about it and when they do, they are on the hedgy side of the when it is all going to happen. At the same time, both Scarlett and Ryan DO like to talk about how strong they are in the support of the Obama Barack campaign and now it seems that all of these things are coming together. The two have now officially said, together, that they will be putting the wedding off…again….until after the U.S. Presidential election. Okaaaayyyy…..Scarlett’s twin brother Hunter is also hot on the heels of the Obama campaign and by the way they are talking, you would think THEY were running for President. It would make sense for a Presidential candidate THEMSELVES to put off a wedding in the midst of the campaign trail, but supporters? It seems a little weird to me, and perhaps may be just another excuse. Or perhaps that IS the real reason and then…we’re back to weird. Okay well, it’s Hollywood, whatever. The tentative date as it stands now is November 22 and the happy couple will wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Scarlett’s hometown of New York City. A Jewish wedding in New York City with celebrities? Don’t expect this to be a small affair…..Stay tuned girls and boys!

Katie Holmes has been burning the candle at both ends these days, with jet setting between L.A. and New York. In L.A. she’s been attending the premiere of ‘Tropic Thunder’ and then zooming back to New York the following day to continue rehearsals for her Broadway work in ‘All My Sons’. She is seen here enjoying some swing time with her daughter Suri, and while by all appearances she is hanging on tight to the little one, it may be her marriage that she is truly trying to cling to. By all accounts the Cruise marriage is hanging by a thread due to many factors, one of which being Katie acting as an East Coaster for the time being. Katie and Tom were last seen at the premier of Tropic Thunder, and though they were all smiles, there may be bigger issues underneath. Cruise plays a small role in Thunder, and it may just be this fact that is causing a rift as we all know in Tinseltown, size matters when it comes to roles. Katie may be feeling the crunch of being the primary breadwinner in a family that expects nothing less than the best, and as her career skyrockets, Tom’s seems to be moving in the opposite direction. Add that to the fact that due to her career, Katie missed an important scientology convention in Los Angeles, and all reports indicate that control freak Cruise was less than impressed. Tom’s dwindling career combined with his scientology obsession may slowly be moving him off the A-list in Hollywood and having a significant effect on his former ‘heartthrob’ status that Katie initially was attracted to. Is Katie Holmes about to be a single mom? I know many that wouldn’t be too disappointed by that fact, and by all accounts, she seems to handle life with much more grace alone, now that she IS a big time star. Time will tell now, won’t it?

Gwen Stefani is seen here enjoying her last few days of pregnancy in the British summertime with her hubby Gavin Rossdale and little boy Kingston. The happy family went to the zoo and even as heavily pregnant as she was, Gwen looked as always, simply radiant. Now, Gwen no longer has the glow of pregnancy on her pretty face, but the glow of being a mom blessed yet again with her second child. Gwen and hubby Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second son on Thursday in Los Angeles, and the couple are getting closer and closer to building their own rock band. And it seems they think so too, as their second son is named Zuma Nesta Rock and was born at 12:46 P.M. Thursday weighing a very healthy 8.5 pounds. Little Kingston who just turned two this May is now a proud and happy big brother and the entire family is happy, healthy, and beaming from ear to ear. Will little Kingston feel left out? Not if Gwen and Gavin have anything to say about it. The two are following the advice of friends and ensuring Kingston has his own welcome home gift when the baby comes home so that he has some extra special ‘just Kingston’ attention from mom and dad. Many congratulations to Gwen, Gavin, and Kingston, and happy birthday little Zuma!
