Britney Rocks the MTV VMA’s
Britney Spears has certainly proved in a multitude of ways that if anyone ever deserved the title ‘Comeback Kid’, it’s her. And this week was no exception when Britney swept away three well deserved Moonmen at the MTV Video Music Awards. Her primary comment was ‘I’m in shock’ after she accepted her third award of the evening from NBA icon Kobe Bryant. One of Brit’s awards included the evening’s biggest honor, video of the year for her hit ‘Piece of Me’. And it wasn’t just the big wins that encapsulated an evening of victories for Britney, as she also made waves for the crowd, and the general public, by opening the ceremony in a grace and style that nobody ever expected from this former drama queen. She was a bit nervous, as expected, but took the stage and the crowd by a storm in a figure hugging vintage silver Versace mini dress that only emphasized how hard she has been working this year. She took center stage and announced “I’m here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday.” Continued Spears: “This is the 25th Video Music Awards – and it starts right now.” Only moments later, Britney accepted her first VMA of the night, and for her career, for best female video and she humbly thanked God for blessing her like this and dedicated the award to her sons saying ‘This is for you.’ Her second award came in for best pop video, as well for ‘Piece of Me’, and ‘Piece of Me’ also took the Moonman for best video of the year. Britney has over her career been nominated 16 times and yet to take home a little statue, so this evening was a first of many I am sure in a long line of success to come for this comeback girl.
