No, no, Lindsay is not the victim of some psycho stalker….that we know of….unless her dear old dad Michael Lohan has been participating in less than comely behaviour. Yes, it is Lindsay`s own father that is about to receive a restraining order from the California courts barring him from Lindsay`s presence. It has been no secret that Lindsay and her paparazzi loving father have been at odds lately, and to say they are at odds may be a nice way of putting it. No, Lindsay and her Christian dad have been at war both publicly, and I imagine privately, since Lindsay has come out officially with her girlfriend Samantha Ronson and even started wedding rumors for the two. Michael is no fan of the relationship and has accused Sam of using Lindsay for her fame and to ignite her own fledgling career, his words not ours, but it seems daddy dear can`t do the mud slinging without stepping in front of a camera or microphone himself. So, who is the real media man here huh. I guess the warring has gotten so bad that Lindsay wants to formally and legally ask him to leave her alone and is doing so with a restraining order. She wants an order of protection because her own father is behaving so erratically that she is actually terrified that he may even hurt her. Her lawyer has already been retained and there is an order of protection in the works. And surprise surprise, this is not new to the Lohan family. Michael is the ex husband of Dina Lohan, Lindsay`s manager, and has three children with her – Cody, Lindsay, and Ali. And he has driven away his entire family to the extent that when Lindsay`s order of protection comes through, Cody will be the only one in the family without a restraining order against Michael. Dina has had one set against him for some time, and even little Ali Lohan has an order of protection against her own father. The family says that nobody will speak to him until or unless he gets help for his odd behaviour. Lindsay thinks at the least that Michael is a public embarrassment and a bully, and she wants him to shut up and just go away….She even said on her MySpace recently:

My father obviously needs to be on medication to control his moods. He is out of line and his words show how much anger he has, and it’s dangerous and scary as it reminds me of how he treated my mother and I my whole childhood. He needs to be stopped. This is yet another reason why we aren’t speaking…

This is the first I am hearing of Michael`s instability from a medication standpoint, but hey, you got three chicks in his own family that are terrified of him. And it makes me wonder what really went on during the Lohan years of growing up. It`s so sad to see families destroyed publicly though, so I hope once the restraining order gets put in play, this will all quiet down. But we ARE talking about Michael Lohan though, so I think the chances of quiet are uh….slim.

Every day that passes brings new information about the tragic plane crash that killed four people and critically injured Travis Barker and DJ AM. As we all know, DJ AM and Travis Barker both suffered serious burns on various parts of their body and have been receiving treatment in Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. As of today, DJ AM, officially known as Adam Goldstein was released from the hospital and is recovering at home. Travis Barker on the other hand has suffered much more extensive injuries and is expected to remain in the hospital for at least another two weeks. An eyewitness has come forth saying he witnessed the whole accident and was the first responder on the scene of the Learjet crash. His name is Curtis Parham, and he was the first person to talk to the two rockers immediately following the crash last Friday night. He describes the accident here:

“I was in my truck sitting next to the runway in the [nearby] parking area,” he recalls. “I heard this scraping noise like metal scraping. I saw the plane come down the runway on the belly of the plane. It made a oud ‘bump,’ and bounced. It looked like it was going around 120 or 130 miles per hour … Then, I saw a big plume of dust and gas and smoke.”

Curtis called 911 and drove to the crash scene with a flashlight. He described Travis and DJ AM as pacing approximately fifty or sixty yards from the plane and Travis kept saying `Òh my god, oh my god“ At the time, all other four passengers on the plane, including Travis`s bodyguard Charles Still and Travis`s assistant Chris Barker were in the plane, and as we know, perished in the crash. Curtis said the aviation fuel at the time was still running across the highway and had ignited, leaving flames spurling across the road. He said when the emergency responders got there, they couldn`t get through due to the extent of the fire. Barker had kept saying that he wanted to get back on the plane to get the other passengers out, but there was no way to even get to the burning Learjet. At the same time, Travis and DJ AM had already suffered their burn injuries and were in extraordinary pain. Barker was carried to an ambulance where he sat on the bumper with DJ Am and they complained of being thirsty and that their eyes were burning from the aviation fuel. They were given some water to flush out their eyes as well as to drink while they tried to process the entire situation. Curtis says it was one of the most traumatic experiences of his life to even witness that, and he can`t imagine what it must have been like to go through it. He hasn`t slept well and is thinking often of the two young men who survived the crash. He hopes that he will be able to see them again and let them know he is sending prayers and blessings to them.

There was quite the kerfuffle earlier this week when Britney Spears and her record label found out that her highly anticipated single ‘Womanizer’ had been leaked onto the Internet. The furor over the leak stemmed from the fact that prospective fans were hearing an unpolished version of ‘Womanizer’ and thus not getting the right impression over Britney’s big comeback and ultimately, that Britney would lose fans in the process. To make matters worse, a Nashville station played this leaked clip, one that only lasted 37 seconds and a lot of backlash ensued. The clip played in Nashville was choppy and broken and Jive Records says that this clip was likely made during a phone call that a radio rep had played for the station. Overall, the played clip was NOT in good shape and some fire quenching needed to occur, and FAST. While a lot of flurry ensued to take the leak off the Internet, and recover from the Nashville incident, the record label producers did some back pedalling and quick thinking in order to put out this fire. The end result was that ‘Womanizer’ was given the polishing it needed and has now been released on the airwaves. Britney’s single was initially intended to be released next month, but the wait is over as of today, as ‘Womanizer’ appeared on the hit New York City Z100 this morning for its official debut. The song ‘Womanizer’ is not quite ready for digital download, but come Monday you will be able to purchase the single in record stores.

It is amazing how just one movie *COUGH Basic Instinct* can change a star’s career, life even, and no matter what successes or failures that Sharon Stone sees in her life, she will always be remembered from that one….quick…..frame. Here she was spotted visiting The Coffee Bean in Beverly Hills, and even still she is thronged by the paparazzi. But despite her popularity with the public, when it comes to the legal streets of California, she isn’t all that favoured. Unfortunately this week Sharon Stone lost custody of her oldes son, Roan, to his dad. Sharon had been seeking primary custody of Roan, but as Roan is currently living with her ex-husband Phil Bronstein, a San Francisco judge ruled that eight year old Roan should stay put where he is…permanently. It was ruled that Phil’s home was a more stable environment for Roan giving Phil executive sole custody. The court order reads as follows:

The court does not find that a move away is in child’s best interest. Court finds that Bronstein can provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure, and consistent home that child, Roan, needs. Bronstein shall have permanent sole physical custody of child

Sharon’s petition for full custody stemmed from the fact that she wanted Roan to live with her so that he could go to school in Los Angeles instead of San Francisco. And had she maybe waited for the move to occur between school years, perhaps she would have been successful because the court order did not feel that taking Roan out of school mid-year would be good for the sake of the child. Sharon however has two other children whom she has adopted on her own, Laird Vonne Stone who is three, and Quinn Kelly who is two, and she wanted Roan to be closer to her to bond with her other kids. But at the end of the day, there is to be no change in Sharon’s “custody, visitation, holiday and vacation schedule” and order that her telephone number is programmed into Roan’s phones. Awwww…poor Sharon. It’s always so sad to see any mother removed from her children. Perhaps hopefully this will change down the line, but it doesn’t look promising.

Reese Witherspoon has made no secret about how googly eyed she has been over her recent amour, Jake Gyllenhaal. Yes yes, Reese and Jake have been going hot and heavy ever since they met on the set of ‘Rendition’ and they are about as serious as it gets without having that little piece of paper and that big rock on her finger. But we sense those minor details are in the works, now that Jake and Reese have been playing house for some time in Reese’s 5.17 million dollar pad. And yes, even their REPS say it’s serious. So you have to know this may ACTUALLY be true Tinseltown love! But uh oh….trouble in paradise. Well no relationship can ever STAY perfect, right? But if you think there is going to be scandal, drug secrets, or big fat cheaters in the midst, think again. C’mon folks, we’re talking about Reese WITHERSPOON. Nope, this happy go lucky well-named America’s Sweetheart is heartbroken because her dog, Frank Sinatra, doesn’t like Jake’s dog, Atticus. And yeah, that’s a true story. The dogs are jealous of each other and will start barking and snapping at each other whenever Reese tries to walk them together. It’s come to the point where the dogs must be separated at walk time, and Reese has also hired a personal trainer for her Ol’ Blue Eyes in hopes that the two dogs will learn to live in harmony. Oh sigh, what is to become of them. Are Reese and Jake going to have to go their separate ways for the sake of Frank and Atticus? I don’t see that happening. And HONESTLY. If THIS is their biggest problem….sheeshhhh

Yes, I know we touched on this yesterday, but the story is so sickening it bears to be dished about again. Nick Bollea (aka Nick Hogan) has been granted an early release from his 8 month prison sentence and will be a ‘free man’ come October 21. He was sentenced for 8 months for drinking and driving and nearly killing one of his best friends. Two hours after the crash, Nick was found to have an extraordinary amount of alcohol STILL in his blood and thus down came the charges. He didn’t actually kill his passenger John Graziano, but the extent of John’s injuries are so severe that he will likely spend the rest of his life in a nursing home. Soooo….John gets a life sentence and Nick is out in five months. Nice. Nick is currently serving the fourth month of his eight month sentence at Tampa’s Pinellas County Jail, and it sounds like when it came to choosing prison accommodations, he lucked out. The particular prison where he is serving offers a credit system for good behaviour. If you behave, you get credits, and if you want, you use your credits for early release. And it sounds like that is what has happened, Nicky was a good boy and they are rewarding him for it. Mind you, his life is not going to be all that peachy keen when he gets out. He still has five years of probation to work through, and three of those years he won’t be able to drive. He will have to work 500 hours of community service, which if you count 40 hr work weeks, it’s approximately six months free labor for the county. He will not be able to drink for the duration of his probation, five years, and within one year he will have to attend DUI classes. Sooo….all we can hope for is that he will screw up his probation and end up back in the clink. And given that alcohol will be a no-no, there may be a good shot at that. We’ll see.

Natalie Portman is seen here looking a little less than red carpet ready in jeans and a T-shirt for the Venice Film Festival earlier this month. Perhaps her dress down was an example of the hippy bo-ho influence that her then boyfriend Devendra Banhart had on her. But it sounds like Natalie and folk rocker Devandra have called it off for good and their starry eyed romance has come to an end. The two have been literally inseparable since last March, when Natalie starred in his ‘Carmenista’ video and they have made no bones to hide grandiose public displays of affection as they walked the streets of New York in Central Park and fed each sushi at Jewel Bako. The couple have also traveled extensively together since the video shoot, and have been to Cannes together as well as to Israel. But you know what they say about those May to December romances, and it looks like this one didn’t even quite make it to Christmas. Perhaps now Natalie will appear a little more like her usual red carpet self for these big events. I am not all together surprised or disappointed about this. I always thought them the oddest match, but we have seen odd matches do very well in Hollywood so I was giving this one a chance. But Natalie is always looking so elegant, and poised, and when standing next to her hippy boyfriend something just didn’t click with me. Oh well, we will see what man candy is next on Natalie’s arm, and I have a hunch it won’t be long.
