Britney Spears Has a Big Ol Heart

Britney Spears has been taking Manhattan by a storm this week, and she is seen here leaving the Rodgers Theater on Broadway looking like the diva she is. Britney was on Broadway to catch the hit musical ‘The Heights’ and this was just one of her many stops of fun and excitement while she is in New York. Britney is doing a little bit of both work and play, and is in town to promote her upcoming record and her happening hot single, but has also managed to squeeze in some shopping and some time on Times Square. But despite what you may think about Britney, her world doesn’t all revolve around her. When she was in New York, she made a point of ensuring that she spread the love to the littlest of people. On Wednesday, Britney stopped into the John Philip Sousa M.S. 142 public school in The Bronx to make sure the little ones were well taken care of. And she had fun with them too! She first presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to the school so that they could finance any necessaries that the school’s music studio might otherwise be missing out on. Britney was handing the check over on behalf of Elizabeth Arden, the company who handles the promotion and sales of her fragrances Believe, Fantasy, and Curious. After that, she had some fun with the kiddos, and she did it in the way that Britney knows best, through performing, but this time, Britney took the opposite side of the stage. And not only that, but although the kids were well aware that they would be performing for a high profile guest, they had no clue that it would be someone as MAJAH as Britney Spears. And she delighted in all their star struck glory. She first enjoyed a performance by the schools eight piece band, the Sousatones. She was then serenaded by a seven girl chorus who were only too happy to sing ‘I Am Woman’ for her. And in all her graciousness, she complimented and praised them to the tee, and they confidently mentioned that, when she was ready for her to take them on as an opening act, they’d be ready for her. ‘You’ll be the first people I’ll call’ she told them sweetly. And so now the good folks at John Philip Sousa will be talking about her for days to come, and with a new music studio in the works for these young talents, Britney will be remembered for even longer than that. And, as we get to know this new Britney, she made hearts melt by commenting on the experience:
“I’ve been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous.”
