The torrid relationship between Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson has been a huge matter of conversation over the last several months. One of the primary reasons for this is the fact that the two have not been really all that clear as to what is really going on between the two of them. And we have heard every rumor in the book. They’re maybe engaged, maybe going to adopt a baby together, maybe getting engaged, maybe living together, maybe just girlfriend and girlfriend. Who knows WHAT the real deal is, but what we DO know is that they are definitely dating, and have made far fewer efforts recently to hide this fact. And when Lindsay sat down with the folks at Harper’s Bazaar for her December cover, she finally set the record straight. And let’s just say, it’s about as clear as mud now that Lindsay has sorted things out for us. Lindsay told Harper’s that she thinks people shouldn’t be surprised that she is dating Samantha (we aren’t. Anymore.) and she says it’s pretty obvious who she is seeing (yes.) and that it should be no shock to anyone that it’s been ‘going on for quite some time’ (it’s not). But when asked to set some boundaries on her own sexuality, Lindsay leaves the door wide open. Is she bisexual? Maybe she says. Is she a lesbian? No she clarifies. She doesn’t like to ‘classify’ herself and says you never know what’s going to happen, tomorrow, in a month, in a year, in five years. No, nobody really knows what will ever happen, but if Lindsay is thinking like this, perhaps the engagement rumor is *just that*. But she does say that she wants to get married…someday….but can’t define right now whether that will be to a man or a woman. She just doesn’t know. And it seems, she doesn’t really care what people think about it. Her family is in full support of her and says they are supportive of her as a person, not in terms of who she is or isn’t dating. Her soon to be a pop star sister Ali says that she supports her completely, that she probably wouldn’t ever do ‘what it is you are doing’ but that she’s happy for her. Lindsay gives her some big sister advice that sounds a lot like the never say never variety:

“Ali’s very mature. I’ve told her that it’s okay to like a boy or a girl if you’re comfortable with it, and it’s something you believe you want to do. And I told her not to be afraid of who she wants to be.”

But overall, Lindsay says she’s fairly ordinary and wants the same things everyone else does. She wants marriage and children, but doesn’t see either of those things happening any time soon. She is still getting her act together after spending almost five months in rehab, and wants to take care of herself and buy a house before she settles down permanently. But overall she is doing well, and well on her way to accomplishing all of her goals. She describes herself as ‘happy’ and well, who can knock that. I have a feeling that with Lindsay finally setting the record straight, a lot less people will be bugging her about it. For more of Lindsay, check out December’s Harper’s Bazaar.
