John Mayer is seen here touching down but briefly at New York City’s JFK International Airport after a coast to coast flight from Los Angeles. John is arriving in New York City to support his girlfriend Jennifer Aniston during her recent promo circuit for her latest movie ‘Marley and Me’. And from the sounds of it, John may not have to make these coast to coast as it sounds like Jennifer and John have had their breakup of the month. Or season. Or whatever. And at this point, it is pretty clear that these two simply do not belong together. What happened here? Because it sounds like this is for good. This time. I guess she’s just not that into you, John. Yes, Jennifer will be seeing the release of her next movie ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ just next week, and many are saying she is using her relationship with John Mayer to plug her new movie, but I have to say I don’t think this is the case. Jennifer Aniston is way too cool and has too many smarts in that pretty head of hers to use a romantic thing to plug a movie. No, no, Jennifer’s movies sell all on their own. But her friends say that she is a control freak and doesn’t like his long silences or his uncommunicative spells where she can’t get anything out of him. The couple were last seen vacationing in Mexico, with Jennifer’s BFF’s Courteney Cox and David Arquette, and with John’s two brothers. So maybe something uncomfortable happened when the big happy family tried to vacay together? Hard to say here, because just like Jen, elusive is as elusive does and we won’t hear the dirty deets for awhile. Or it could have been John’s recent You Tube video, where he posted a mock self-empowerment moment referencing Jennifer Aniston’s ex Brad Pitt and making big claims for Brad’s movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ and if I were his girlfriend, and Brad was MY ex, I wouldn’t be too thrilled about that either. But this video could very well have been a retaliation to the breakup as well, anyone’s guess is as good as mine I suppose. But like I say, we won’t know the real story for awhile, but lesson learned here for Player Mayer I guess. She’s just not that into you. And if this video was really a breakup retaliation? Wow, so junior high! But you know how it is, when John Mayer suffers, we all suffer. *sigh*

This is kind of a sad story. It seems like just the other day when I was saying that I was quite impressed with some of the changes that Kelly Osbourne has seen in recent months. She was looking noticeably slimmer, using much less of that hideous red lip stain, and she seemed to have her stuff together. But you know what they say, looks can be deceiving, and Kelly’s rise was short-lived, as she has been on a bit of a downward spiral these days. We aren’t talking Amy Winehouse trainwreck style, just yet. But she’s well on her way. 2009 has been a rough go so far for Kelly, as she started off the year by slapping a journalist . And recently she topped off her escapades with a recent check in to a Los Angeles rehab center for what is being said to be a 30 day stay. It seems that our innocent Kelly has been struggling with addiction even still. We know that she has previously been to rehab in 2004, and then again in 2005, for an addiction to painkillers. And it all stems from where she is ‘living’ says sources close to her. She divides her time in between both Los Angeles and London, and it sounds like those aren’t good places for her to be. On London, one of her friends says that flat out, London is very bad for her.

“It’s a very party atmosphere there. She just tends to get back into that rut when she’s there since her friends are there, and she’s just more comfortable there. The old party habits come back.”

Though we don’t know exactly why Kelly stepped back into the rehab mill this time, it is apparently to ‘address some personal issues’. Well, rehab can be a very personal thing…as can addiction. I mean, what else are they going to say? She’s a drunk? She’s a junkie? Uh yeah, kinda like what the rest of us are saying. But at the end of the day, this is one star that has the capacity to not go down the Amy Winehouse path, so we do hope she is able to pull herself together…in 30 days or less.

Ooh, this is a rich little story, isn’t it? Yes, yes, we are hearing buzz that Angelina may have had a little play when the cat was away, in a girl on girl interrupted kind of way. That’s right. The story may not be coming from the most credible source however, that being a disgruntled employee of the Brad Pitt/Angelina clan. My thoughts are that anyone that would be a former employee of this couple would have a few angst issues to report, but you know what they say, the ‘hired help’ knows much more than the employer would like to admit. The help in this case is former bodyguard to Angelina, who, now that he’s received a pink slip from the couple is hoping to make a few extra bucks by spilling some secrets that he learned while under their employ. The bodyguard in question is Mickey Brett, and is putting in his book that he himself was responsible for setting up at least 20 secret meetings between Angelina and another woman while Brad was overseas on location. Who could it be? Nobody knows for sure, and I am guessing we won’t until the book makes print. If it makes print. I find it hard to believe that stars of the caliber that Angelina and Brad are wouldn’t have employees sign a non-disclosure agreement, but you know what they say. Sometimes those NDA’s aren’t all they are cracked up to be, and if you can sell a tabloid tell all chronicling the messes of the Pittlet can for a few million, what is a pesky lawsuit for breaking a NDA? Hm? The tell all continues. It directly contradicts the stories that Brad and Angelina carefully compiled during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the movie where they met, fell in love, and where Brad cheated on his wife Jennifer Aniston. And so we already know that Angelina doesn’t give too much stock to the vows of nuptials (which could very well explain why she hasn’t “bothered” with them as far as Brad is concerned). But Mickey tells in his book that he walked in on the two being intimate in the private trailer kind of way well before the two made their relationship official. And well before the timeline as stated in their previously mentioned ‘carefully concocted’ story, that they only got together after all other parties (namely Jennifer Aniston) were sufficiently dumped. What do you think? Is Angelina a cheater? Well, we certainly know that she’s capable of it, she was ‘the other woman’ at one point. And Mickey boy was in her employ for a period of 7 years, sooooo….I’m thinking, yeah, this could be a true one. Wouldn’t shock me…in the least.

Here we have the ever so suave Sean Penn and his beautiful wife as they pose all pretty like on the red carpet last night shortly before the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Oh yes, in Hollywood they seem to replace Winter with Awards Season as with the Globes, SAGs, Emmy’s, and Oscars, the stars are alight with the sound of the phrase ‘and the winner is…’. And in the case of the SAGs last night, Sean Penn emerged a big winner, as did the ever so fabulous Meryl Streep. The win for Streep was a bit of a surprise to many, as the award was expected to go to Kate Winslet after she took the Golden Globe for the Best Actress category. In fact, the surprise was one even for Meryl, who humbly noted that she was so not expecting this that she ‘didn’t even buy a dress’ and wore a simple black pants ensemble to the awards. Yes, you have to know that you are THAT big in Hollywood when you don’t even care enough to dress your very best at the Screen Actors Guilds. At any rate, the win for Penn was not that much a surprise, as he is the predicted winner for the Best Actor category for his stunning performance as a gay man in ‘Milk’. Yes, it is being said that he will even beat out Brad Pitt for his work in ‘Benjamin Button’ in this category, but that’s what happens when you toss in the controversial gay topic. Maybe next time, Brad. And Sean was duly humbled by the win, saying in his speech:

“as actors, we don’t play gay/straight … we play human beings. This is a story about equal rights for all human beings.”

And again, Sean was a little surprised at the award, given that this year’s biggest comeback was Mickey Rourke, who has to date been beating him out in this category. So I can’t help but wonder, what the heck is going to happen at the Oscars? In days gone by, the Golden Globes have been very effective predictors for the Academy evening, but now we are seeing some surprises and mixed messages with Meryl/Kate and Sean/Mickey….And yet another surprise with a big winner was when ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ won the SAG for the Outstanding Cast category. Many predicting afficonados are claiming this foreshadows a probable Best Picture Oscar win, and given that Slumdog is up for 10, second only to Benjamin Button, they may just be right here. In a rare public and coupled sighting, Sarah Jessica Parker is seen here with her husband Matthew Broderick at the opening night of the Manhattan Theater Club’s The American Plan held at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in New York City. Must have been date night for this struggling couple, as they went to see this play that is a new interpretation of an early and well acclaimed play by the Tony Award winning author of Take me out. And yes, this is one struggling couple, as this marriage has been on deathwatch for a while now, after some ugly rumors about Matthew surfaced last summer while Sarah was on the promotional circuit for the ‘Sex and the City’ movie. Yes, Matthew was seen spending a rather extraordinary amount of time with a young starlet who was NOT his wife. But despite all of the rumors, Sarah says that no, in fact this marriage is one that is meant to stick, and date night in New York City was her first means of making this point. The two were seen at the opening night acting rather lovey dovey with some hand holding and affectionate cuddles as they smiled and posed for the divorce rumor hungry paparazzi. But they smiled through it all, and whether it is fake or not is anyone’s guess, so by all accounts they make it look like whatever troubles their marriage was having, the death bed has been put to rest for now. And even though they made every effort to look the shining couple, the media couldn’t help but ask if this was all a front to combat the divorce rumors. And Sarah, in her ever so diplomatic and mystical ways only responded with a:

“We don’t even bother to address them (the divorce rumors).”

Sarah continued by saying that the best part of being married is….being married! So leave it to Sarah Jessica Parker to keep us guessing. And if you’ve been hoping that the rumors towards a Sex and the City movie sequel are a done deal, you definitely won’t get the answer to that one from Sarah either, as she explains in her most secretive way that,

“that’s what I’ve heard but I wouldn’t say that is the most official thing you’ll ever read.”

There is another Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson rumor coming out (no pun intended) every week it seems. It seems that they have been ‘taking it to the next level’ for about a million years now. This time, the ‘next level’ that they’ve taken appears to be a joint back account, and Lindsay has taken the initiative on this one to prove to Samantha that she is committed to the relationship. What, does this mean that all the dish breaking and public name calling is indicative that in fact Lindsay hasn’t been committed to the relationship until now? But hm, given that Lindsay is the obvious breadwinner here, her initiating a joint bank account may just well be almost as good as a marriage proposal. But as you can expect, she is taking baby steps, and not full leaps towards this big endeavour. Lindsay earns millions per flick, and about $250,000 per episode of Ugly Betty, and so her assets are pretty significant. But she’s only putting her earnings from Ugly Betty into the cookie jar, which leaves a whole lot left in her own name. If you ask me, it’s a smart move. And, this joint account may not be about the relationship ‘level’ at all. It sounds like Samantha has been forking over a lot of cash for all of their countless romantic getaways. Yes, Samantha may not be raking in millions per gig, but she does have a hefty price for her high demand DJ sets that have her jet setting all over the world to perform high profile gigs for this that and the other celebrity. And she seems to have been the one that has been spending the dough on getaways that are supposed to be cementing their relationship. What is this, has Samantha been trying to buy Lindsay’s love? Sources say yes!

Sam’s very generous to Lindsay. She pays for everything when they go away together and Lindsay wants to show her gratitude by doing this. Sam is completely disinterested in shopping and things, whereas Lindsay loves to spend and always says she wants to be as rich as possible.

It almost sounds like it, as Lindsay’s step to open up the joint account and dump her Betty earnings into it is a means of paying her back, and not about commitment like it may seem. But the bank account may come in handy, given that on a recent DJ set in Dubai, one which Lindsay attended with Sam for support, the two fell in love with the city and jointly purchased a property in Dubai’s exclusive Palm Island development. So, whatever the reasons for the joint bank account, with joint assets, this couple is definitely making designs on a more committed relationship, whatever that is in their world.
