Jennifer Aniston’s Backup Career

Jennifer Aniston is very busy these days doing the promotional circuit for her latest comedy ‘Marley and Me’ and has been seen on every talk show both day and night as she jet sets all over the world dishing about her latest film. And though she doesn’t really look like she is about to retire any time soon, Jennifer is doing what many actresses in her shoes do when they begin to reach a maturity in Hollywood that lends themselves more towards ‘mom’ type roles rather than sexy starlet. Unlike other starlets that are launching fragrance lines or clothing labels, Jennifer is considering owning her own restaurant. And this is no new dream of Jennifer’s, in fact, if she hadn’t gone into acting, it’s what she would have done anyway. Jennifer has always wanted to own her own restaurant, and wants to actually open a Greek restaurant if she ever makes the leap. Her father of course is Greek-American, and she loves the idea of opening her own eatery and catering foods that she has grown to love. And if she does, this is something that she would be doing as a means of following in her family’s foot steps.

I always thought it would be fun to own a restaurant. My family is Greek, and many of them own restaurants and coffee shops. I make a mean baklava with my grandmother’s recipe so I thought that could have worked out for me.

Jennifer Aniston making a mean baklava? Wow! There does not seem to be any end to this woman’s many talents, does there? However, don’t expect to be eating Jennifer’s own baklava any time soon. With two films due out in 2009, she’s going to be busy for at least a little while. The long anticipated ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ is due out in theatres next month and will showcase her proficient talent along with her other talented co-stars Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, and Drew Barrymore. And if you ever wondered just what makes Jennifer SO successful? She recently told Cosmopolitan magazine that she chalks it all up to some harsh criticism she received when she was first starting out.

I had a Russian acting coach when I was at the New York High School of Performing Arts who told me I was a disgrace to the Moscow theatre. Ever since then I’ve wanted to prove him wrong. I’ve never really had my eye on the prize, though I’ve just wanted to enjoy the passage of time.

And just how many times do you think that meanie of an acting coach has bragged about the fact that he once taught Jennifer Aniston? Oh I’m sure, but you know what they say, revenge is the best medicine. Or something.
