For anyone that cares, it sounds like Angelina Jolie is doing just fine two days after the birth of her twins. There seemed to be some speculation to the contrary after her OB/GYN paid a longer than usual visit to her hospital room this morning. Dr. Sussmann, the man that delivered the tots, was called to the hospital unexpectedly and left his Mercedes double parked across a pedestrian walk way with the hazards flashing at the entrance doors to the hospital, sparking rumors that something ‘emergent’ was going on. His previous check-ins had lasted only about 20 minutes, so the fact that his car stayed there for an hour plus was of concern to some onlookers. Once again however, the French are not allowed to speak publicly of medical concerns, and frankly, this is a rule that may behoove other countries to follow, so we don’t know much about what happened. When Dr. Sussman returned to his vehicle well over an hour later, he assured all onlookers that everyone in the Jolie-Pitt clan were doing very, very well and that ‘everything is okay’. Phew. That was a relief.

Ah yes, just when we thought we could go a day without saying nothing about these folks, they go and deliver their little ones. Finally! Saturday night was an exciting one in Nice, France as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt saw the birth of their twins. Angelina delivered the babies by C-Section, and it was one of each for the A-listers as they are the proud parents of both a new baby boy and a new baby girl. Knox Leon is the name of their new son, and he was born weighing in at 5.03 pounds and their little princess Vivienne Marcheline was born at 5 pounds. And, per the doctor’s reports, everyone is doing very well. The birth was moved forward from its originally planned date (which was kept secret) due to some medical reasons, to ensure the babies would be born ‘in the best conditions’. Though, no details have been provided as to what any of that meant, but it does sound like an emergency C-section was the end result. These tots will make babies #5 and #6 for the couple who have Maddox (6), Pax (4), Zahara (3) and Shiloh (2). And yes, as expected there is a media frenzy around first shots. Reports as it stands now are that the couple will fetch an unprecedented $24 million for the baby pictures, though who will be the lucky recipient is still mum. As with Shiloh, it is anticipated that all funds from the baby pictures will go to charity.

About a week ago, some shots were released of a pregnant woman posing in the window of the Lenval Hospital in Nice, France. And, given the PR blast over the fact that Angelina and Brad are napping there, I mean, waiting patiently for the birth of their twins, the immediate assumption (from the whole world) was that the woman in the window was Angelina Jolie. We were all wrong apparently, and some pregnant lady in France is probably tickled pink that her pictures have been scattered all over the globe. The hospital reports that no, those aren’t pictures of Angelina at all. Why you ask? How can we know for sure? Forget not that we are dealing with a diva of epic proportions here, and as such, Angelina has gone to considerable lengths to ensure NO photos of her are taken in these last days before the birth. Those lengths include having her hospital room windows tinted and coated with a unique insulating material that will prevent the penetration from nosy paparazzi cameras. And yes, that is ACTUALLY true. We won’t be seeing Angelina until after the birth, and I have to say, that’s just FINE with me. Hospital administrators say it is been made physically impossible to see Angelina through a window and that any released pictures are fakes or posers. So I guess that pregnant lady in France is the last one laughing now, huh? I’m still shaking my head over the whole thing. Ridiculous.

It sounds like if Brad and Angelina were expecting huge crowds and an outpouring of love from the adoring French while they awaited the arrival of their twins, they were disappointed. Or perhaps, the indifference of the French to celebrities is the reason they chose to deliver their babies in France. Either way, they are being met with very little, if any, fans and heartwarming welcomes. In fact, they are being treated like any other couple about to have some babies. The locals in Nice, France aren’t apparently as Nice as their city’s name may imply, or at best, they are indifferent. They simply don’t care. The only way one can tell some American A-listers are hovering in the country is from the small handful of paps situated outside the hospital where they are staying, and they are only there because they know their work will sell well to the American media publications. Even they care little outside of putting some food on the table. And it’s not just the Brangelinas. Nice people just don’t give the time of day to any celebrities that grace their streets, as they pride themselves on being more down to earth, lovers of culture and of love, but also very confident. The Nice take pride in being sexy and confident themselves, and just don’t need other people, particularly celebrities, to aspire to. The Nice consider people’s lives to be their own, and that includes celebrities, and if those lives don’t affect their own, well, they just don’t care. Finally. Some people that are happy to voice their opinions about the Brangelina’s out loud.
