Isn’t it funny how celebrity pregnancies work? In some cases you have celebrities that seem to stay pregnant until their eleventh trimester, like Ashlee Simpson. And in other cases, you have celebrities that announce their pregnancy and then seem to have their baby the following week. This is how I feel about Jenn Garner and Ben Affleck as it seems this pregnancy has just zoooomed by. Here is Ben Affleck taking his pregnant wife Jennifer Garner for a brief visit to Cedars Sinai Hospital, though why they were stopping in is unknown. They could have been checking out the maternity ward or filling out paperwork for their pending arrival, or Jennifer could have experienced some early contractions and needed a rush to the hospital. It seems by the looks of the picture that Jennifer isn’t doing all that well, so it was probably of no surprise to her or her husband that she went into labor very shortly after this photo was taken. The picture was taken on Sunday, and Jennifer and Ben welcomed the newest addition to their family just two days later on Tuesday morning, giving birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl. No other details on their new little princess have been released, such as size or the ever elusive name question, but mom and Violet’s new little sister are doing very well. Just days before the delivery, Jennifer was spotted with her oldest daughter, three year old Violet at the Farmer’s Market in Pacific Palisades and grabbing a decaf coffee at Caffe Luxxe in Santa Monica. And by all accounts, Jennifer is going to handle number two with the aplomb and grace that she did with Violet. Any co star that has worked with her, such as Alias co star and close friend Victor Garber, say that Jennifer will need no help in the mommy department. Friends close to her say that Jennifer is ‘the best mother they know’. And my hunch is it won’t be long before we see her big toothy grin as she introduces her new daughter to the rest of the world. Our congratulations go out to Ben, Jennifer, and new big sister little Violet.

Jennifer Garner was spotted the other day running errands and enjoying a long breakfast with her pal Gina Torres at the Cheeho restaurant. Fans of ‘Alias’ will remember Gina as Jennifer’s arch nemesis Anna from Alias. But it looks like the pals have no bones with each other now. And you will notice that as Jennifer runs errands these days, particularly when the paps are around, she has shopping bags strategically placed around her mid-section. The reason for this is that until now Jennifer has managed to stay away from all of the pregnancy rumors in Tinseltown, but she can’t any more. Friends of hers have recently confirmed that Jennifer is now pregnant with her second child with Ben Affleck. Jenn is about five months along at this point, with an expected due date around Thanksgiving, shortly before Violet’s third birthday. Very interesting considering there has been a lot of split talk between this couple, so we will see what happens here. The first child to the Bennifers was their yummy little cutie pie Violet, and so since we know this is one pretty gene pool, their second should be just as darling. Here is Jennifer Garner perhaps indulging in some retail therapy as she hits a boutique in Pacific Palisades to shop for new handbags and clothes at Elyse Walker. Is it possible the retail therapy is to boost Jennifer’s spirits? There are some rumors circulating that her and Ben are on the outs and E! Online is suggesting that Jennifer is mulling a split with hubby Ben Affleck. Star magazine has also mentioned that Ben was seen canoodling with a London actress last month. Add this to the fact that Jennifer didn’t attend Ben’s One X One thing he hosted in Calgary last month. The rumor then is further compounded by the fact that Jennifer was seen looking at homes and properties in Beverly Hills two weeks ago without her Benny. To make matters worse, their ‘people’ are actually talking about it as well, when, in most cases rumors just go ignored by the publicists. Ben’s reps are saying they ‘don’t comment on this stuff’ and that all of the sources are liars. And by the way, don’t print that they are breaking up….You know how it is when the publicist doth protest too much…It wouldn’t be too surprising, given the noted longevity of any Hollywood couple, however, this family was actually kinda cute, and for a while there were giving us all some hope that some families do stay together in Tinseltown. All members of the Garner Affleck bunch took advantage of a beautiful Sunday morning in New York the other day and did the family thing and went for a stroll around the city. Ben is currently on work for his new movie “He’s Just Not That Into You” and Jennifer herself is also about to begin work on her latest project “The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”. They all look so happy and normal, which is only surprising because many Hollywood families can not pull that off. And that Violet simply must be getting prettier every day, I love those tiny Mary Janes she’s sporting!

I just love watching celebrities hanging out with their kids. You know, there are those out there that always end up in shots with nanny in tow. Not with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, these two are real hands-on parents and I gotta hand it to them, it can’t be easy with their schedules. Here we see Jennifer taking pretty little Violet out for a library day in Pacific Palisades. Never too early to start a love for literacy darlin’. Little Violet also had Daddy all to herself while they ran some errands together on the weekend. And who doesn’t just love to see a fine man hanging out with his precious baby. We should rename these folks the Cleavers, but with a wee one as cute as little Violet, it can not be difficult to want to love all over her.
