Brandy Off the Hook for Vehicular Manslaughter?
Thursday, December 27th, 2007
It seems that Brandy was in a little scuffle a while back with her vehicle. More than a little actually, as the collision that Brandy was in resulted in a fatality. As usual there was a lot of he-said she-said and for a while there it looked like Brandy was facing charges of vehicular manslaughter. Investigators are now finding out that this is not the case. The woman that died in the collision struck the car in front of her before Brandy’s car even made any contact. The woman is known as Awatef Aboudihaj, and was driving at a speed of 65 mph before slamming her brakes. It was this sudden stop that caused Brandy to hit Awatef’s vehicle. Even further, toxicology reports are coming out that Awatef had traces of marijuana in her system at the time of the collision. The L.A. City Attorney has until the end of business Friday to determine whether or not Brandy is going to come under criminal charges of vehicular manslaughter. If they DO, it is up to them to prove there was negligence on Brandy’s part, and investigators right now are shaking their head on that one. Poor Brandy! As if it’s not bad enough to be in a collision involving a fatality, now she has to deal with this too? Let’s hope this all goes away for her VERY soon!
