It is no secret to anyone that Britney Spears has been on an upward spiral this year following diagnosis and treatment of her mental health issues. She seems to be doing everything she can to prove to the world, and the custody courts, that she is doing A-Ok. She’s settled nicely back into steady work life and has been working on a new album that she describes as her best work ever. And, right in concert with the highly publicized notion that she misses her mommy days dearly, her sons have inspired much of the work on the album. She has a song titled ‘My Baby’ that she has dedicated to both her boys, Sean and Jaden, and says she uses them as inspiration to sit at her piano and write every day to illustrate their meaning in her life. And it’s not just music or health factors that Britney has worked hard to clean up. No, she’s settled right into domestic bliss at home and says her favorite thing to do is housework. She even gets irritated if her housekeeper doesn’t leave any housework for her to do. Her favorite tasks are dusting and Windex-ing anything and everything. She also loves to cook, and notably, especially for her boys, who she says love her spaghetti more than anyone else’s. Were we to read back several months ago and the things she was doing in her life that she enjoyed the most then, to hear that she was a cleaning fanatic would be astounding, and even unbelievable. But it’s wonderful to hear Britney gushing about the smaller things in life, like housework, as it shows that she, and her health, are exactly where they should be.

And no, Britney Spears has yet to slip off her meds and pull another looney bin worthy stunt that will have people shaking their heads….in fact, by all accounts she’s doing very well. But recent reports do indicate that she is ready to take on a new role, that being of the homicidal exotic dancer lesbian. No, she’s not ‘trying something out’ she’s simply being considered for a new movie role by the infamous Quentin Tarantino. He is about to take the 1965 cult classic ‘Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!’ to the big screen, and wants Britney as the lead role. Were it anyone but Quentin Tarantino, I might suggest someone like Jenna Jameson for the role, but big names means big money and possibly some Oscar contention. Quentin has for the most part turned out films that are nothing short of brilliant and he thinks Britney Spears would pull it off beautifully. Well, we do know that she can do crazy VERY well, but for her, it’s a matter of health. So I am not too sure if this is the best thing for her. However, her biggest headlines this year have been about her slow but sure climb back up the ladder to normalcy, and she has been making bigger strides than anyone expected, so who knows, this could be good for her. Her reps think this may turn her career around, but she seems to be doing that very well despite any big role offers. She’s been seen recently looking stunning as ever in a teensy bikini while vacaying in Cabo with a mystery man, and she has been looking as healthy and glamorous as ever. But you know how it is when things start going well for someone with a downhill history. People are saying even about those bikini shots that it was all a setup by her people to get some cold cash with the sale of the pictures. Will she land the big bucks for a role with Tarantino? Or will she simply be stowing away cash for selling bikini pictures of herself? Who knows, it’s Britney, and she seems to be able to make money just by breathing. But if selling bikini pictures of herself for cash is the only scandal people can come up with about this girl, I gotta say, she’s doing very well for herself given the trainwreck she’s been this year.

Britney Spears is seen here being escorted back home in the wee hours of the morning after spending an exhausting day in the recording studio, working on her new album. She did her best to hide from the paps, holding her big bag in front of her face, but it looks like she just finally gave up the good fight where that is concerned. And my my, our little comeback girl has been keeping herself busy. Between working on a new album and filming a video for Madonna, she has been putting herself to good use by supporting charity as well. On Saturday evening she attended the fundraiser called Generation Rescue, a fundraiser supported also by Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey, and is an organization dedicated to researching and curing autism. All reports were that Britney looked fabulous and appeared very happy. Though she did stick close to her assistant Brett and didn’t really speak to anyone, she smiled and clapped during all the appropriate moments. Which is odd, perhaps she’s not on the total upswing as many would think as she is not really known for being anti-social or camera shy, however, tiny steps for this girl are all she needs right now.

It sounds like Britney Spears is more than a little on her way back, as the latest reports are that she will be recording a new record all summer long. She has already started spending some time in the studio and she, as well as her manager, are quite pleased with the tracks that have been put down so far. Larry Rudolph, Britney’s manager, says her entire summer is booked for the recording studio for a brand new album. Still a little early though to talk about a date for album release. As far as being in the studio, perhaps for Britney it is like the Mother Ship calling her home, as she seems to be doing very well and having an absolute blast. She seems right at home and completely focused on the music that she is working on. And this stop in the studio is just another excellent sign that she is committed to getting the rest of her life back on track as well. With the work she has been doing with Madonna, on top of a new album, her quest to regain joint custody of her children should not be difficult at all.

Britney Spears has been under the radar lately, well, as much as SHE can be. Under dad Jamie’s tight supervision there is little that she can get away with. Though she and her ex Adnan Ghalib are still in daily contact, with daily text messages going back and forth. If there is a future here, who knows, Britney can’t do much with her dad around, and he’s not too fond of the Ghalib connection. In other news, as far as Britney’s video with Madonna is concerned, more details are leaking out on the video specifics. Wednesday Britney began shooting the video for Madonna, and it sounds like Britney is playing on her crazy days…..The short film is going to kick off each of Madonna’s concert stops, with a piece of the action being set in an elevator. The segment will open with Britney hidden underneath a gray hoody, getting on the elevator and pacing as it ascends until the anticipated freak out occurs. She will go a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs, kicking and hitting the walls, screaming and wall climbing until the climax where she’ll yank off her hoody and should ‘It’s Britney, B*&%$.’ Sounds interesting. Hm. Is it just me or is anyone else uncomfortable with the thought of seeing Britney losing it again?
