We’ve heard some rumors and mumbling for quite some time now about Gwyneth Paltrow and her marriage to Chris Martin. They’ve been having trouble, not having trouble, over and over again. Well, it sounds like they are back to having trouble, and in an even weirder twist, Madonna may be the one to blame. This will make the third marriage this year that Madonna is being blamed for bringing to an end, if you count her own and A-Rods, so her track record doesn’t seem to be doing that well. But Gwyneth and her hubby, Coldplay star Chris Martin have been having a work induced separation of sorts as Chris has been out touring and Gwyneth has been working, but the two are back home in London and trying to save their marriage. They are trying so hard that Gwyneth even passed up the chance to host New York’s preeminent lunch box auction, an event that she has hosted for three years straight, but Gwyneth gave it all up for the love of her marriage. Where Madonna comes in is that Madonna and Gwyneth have become BFF’s since Gwyneth’s move to London, and reports are that Madonna has a star effect on Gwyneth causing her to act a little loopy since the new found friendship. Sources are saying that Madonna has had an odd effect on Gwyneth, and Gwyneth has become a totally different person since Madonna came into her life. Gwyneth supposedly acts normal until Madonna shows around, and this character change has caused a rift in her marriage. And if they are trying to work on their marriage, they don’t have much time. Gwyneth’s hubby Chris is heading out to tour again with Coldplay come February. What is to become of this marriage? Hmmm….hard to say. But couples that are happy, rarely have splitsville rumors hitting them this hard, this often. I think this is one marriage we can put on deathwatch.

Ah yes, the style icons in Tinseltown have been waiting on pins and needles this week for the long awaited annual 10 Best Dressed Stars list of People Magazine. Hmm….who do you think made the cut? You will probably notice that there are few if any surprises, but let’s keep in mind there are only 10 slots to fill, and yes, I am sure there was some disappointment in Hollywood once the names were announced. Not surprisingly at all, Sarah Jessica Parker hit the list for probably her umpteenth year in a row, and was chosen due to her ‘expert eclectic style’ and I love that. Anne Hathaway has been wowing designers ever since she broke it big in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and she made the cut, along with Charlize Theron, Rihanna, Eva Mendes, and of course Kate Hudson. Heidi Klum hit the list for being ‘Model Chic’ and one surprise I noted was Fergie, who was described as a ‘Refined Rocker’. I don’t think she has any style ‘issues’ per se, however, she wouldn’t make a top 10 in my books. Another surprise came from Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance on the list, and she was chosen for her evolution in the fashion world this year, having ‘revved up her classic look’ as we see here now less preppy and more in the thigh baring mini dresses and mongo heels. What DID surprise me the most was seeing Michelle Obama’s name appear, and her style was defined as ‘Classy and Confident’ and again, though I am not saying she is not a very well dressed lady, there were a few Tinseltown style queens that were probably a little pouty about being beat out by Michelle Obama. Those pouts I am sure are hanging on the lips of Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes, two infamously impeccably styled women that well….just didn’t make the cut this year. Sorry girls. Better luck next year.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been quite the jet setter these days as she has been touring in a whirlwind frenzy to promote her upcoming ‘IronMan’ flick. And it looks like it’s paid off as Iron Man’s weekend box office opening raked in a cool $98.6 million. So now that she can breathe that stress away, Gwyneth has jetted over to Rome, to do as the Romans do, wear fine Italian shoes. She is the new face for Italian shoe designer Valleverde and has spent the last several days shooting an Italian commercial for the shoe line. The theme of the ad campaign is a star studded paparazzi craze, which we all know Gwyneth pulls off beautifully. Gwyneth is seen here shooting in the Campo de Fiori place, the centre of Rome, and in this scene she is walking with photographers milling around her. During the scene, an actor falls down and Gwyneth appears troubled about it. In another scene, Gwyneth does the red carpet and makes her way onto a horse drawn carriage with the paparazzi milling about. It all sounds very Gwyneth, the limelight is something she definitely revels in. I wonder if we will get a chance to see it here?

Here is Gwyneth Paltrow at the recent Ironman premiere that was held a the Odeon Leicester last Thursday in London. As usual, Gwyneth shone on the red carpet in a dress that was hardly there with killer heels to match. And not that she needs the height, but Gwyneth has been capturing more than side glances lately with her penchant for the seven inches of heeled pretties. These alone are enough to make anyone turn heads, but when you’re Gwyneth Paltrow, you’ll steal the limelight from anyone. Ironman is a comic book adventure saga and is proving to be a great film, which is bound to happen when you get a great cast involved. Gwyneth co-stars with Robert Downey Jr. who she describes as ‘full of life’ and she enjoyed working with him so much that she even wants to work with him for forever. Downey agrees saying that his life has never been so good, and side note, it’s nice to see this great actor back to work again. And with such stellar talent as Gwyneth? This film should make some waves.

You know how it is, when troubles arise at home, the girls make it a night out, without the men. And this is what Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna did the other night at the celebrity joint Locanda Locatelli in Marylebone. Neither of the women brought their hubbies along, which has only fueled rumors already started that both Madonna’s and Gwyneth’s marriages are on the rocks. Madonna and hubby are living in separate countries even, with Madonna taking care of the tots in the US, and hubby Guy Ritchie working in the UK. But this was not a first night out for these girls, as the term ‘best friends’ has been used with them on numerous occasions, an odd pairing, don’t you think? Gwyneth is even exploring the Kabbalah religion, the same branch of Jewish mysticism that Madonna follows. Both Guy and Madonna’s reps have stated there is no marriage problem and in fact they are happier than ever. But they won’t be spending Easter together, and he didn’t even make it into Madonna’s induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, nor her fundraiser in New York in early February. I just generally assumed that happy couples spent holidays and major career turning points together, but hey, it is Tinseltown, and one never knows what happens between couples no matter what side of the pond they live on.

Monday was a hectic day for the Paltrow/Martin family as Gwyneth Paltrow had some health issues that had her rushed to the hospital. Monday afternoon Gwyneth was rushed to New York’s Mount Sinai hospital by her husband Chris Martin, where she checked in under her married name ‘Gwyneth Martin’. As the day progressed, Gwyneth’s health must have as well as she was admitted to the hospital overnight. Onlookers described her as being ‘slumped in a wheelchair’ though there is no word out on why she was admitted at all. Her reps are refusing to comment on why she was admitted, though they are saying she is now fine and back at home. The speculation at this point is that Gwyneth has been working overtime as both an Oscar winning actress as well as a wife and mother and has finally reached her limit. For her most recent role in the upcoming movie ‘Iron Man’ Gwyneth had to lose a lot of weight and was on an extensive fitness regime. She also worked through the holidays on her next film ‘Two Lovers’ opposite Joaquin Phoenix. It would not be the most disabelievable thing if the poor girl was exhausted. However, whatever the cause we wish her nothing but the best as she is on the mend.
