It is probably the biggest fear that strikes the heart of any teenaged girl when she first finds out that she is pregnant. Things like diaper changes, middle of the night feedings, and how am I going to pay for all of it are some of the last things that enter a girl’s mind when she ‘gets in trouble’. Or if they are, these matters do not take precedence over the first chilling fear ‘How am I going to tell my mom? She’s going to KILL me!’ When you are a celebrity with Spears as your last name, things are not any different. Lynn Spears is hot on the promo trail right now for her new book ‘Through the Storm’ where she dishes about every family secret. And it hasn’t gone over with the family that well, nor would it for any family whose laundry was aired as a means of pushing their own fame forward. But nonetheless, what is done is done, and the same goes for Jamie Lynn Spears who is handling mommyhood just fine, but it was not without some angst. Lynn Spears spoke on NBC’s Today show yesterday to spill the dirt on how she found out that Jamie Lynn was pregnant. No, it wasn’t a sit down heartfelt talk between mother and daughter, it came through a note. Like any teenaged girl, Jamie Lynn was so scared to tell her mom that she couldn’t even tell her to her face. She wrote in a note that she was pregnant but that ‘everything was gonna be OK, mom’, gave it to her mom and asked her to go to her bedroom to read it. At first Lynne thought it was a joke, but when she realized that baby daddy Casey Aldridge could not even look her in the eye, she knew it was real. And Lynne is the first one to take blame for this, almost to the point that she takes on blame for all mothers in America, saying things like ‘What did I do? We just had this talk a month ago’ and on and on. Lynne admits that she was in shock, and even cried when she found out but knows that Jamie Lynn will be a great mom and is already a fabulous mom. Teenaged motherhood can not be easy, and when your every move is in the public eye, I am sure it is even more difficult. But the Spears girls prove over and over again that if nothing else, they are strong, and they are resilient. And while Lynne may have a tough time with guilt and blame for some of their choices and mistakes, she must know that they learned that from somewhere.

I tell ya, this Spears clan just can’t stay out of the news. Is it perhaps a little self inflicted? Hm, I wonder. We talked a little last week about Jamie Lynn and how her fiancé to be was in a little bit of hot water now that he has been caught in a cheating scandal. A cheating situation by the way that he involved himself in with an older woman while Jamie Lynn was pregnant with their daughter. And one would think that this was enough to kick the baby daddy to the curb, but not for Jamie Lynn. Nope, she is standing by fiancé Casey Aldridge despite the fact that he’s a cheating rat snake. Jamie Lynn has still been seen running errands in their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana with her big heavy rock dangling from her hand, but has been in a little bit of hiding at her mom’s house ever since the chiquita Casey was messing with was splashed all over the cover of In Touch magazine. Not surprisingly, Jamie new nothing about the affair until the tabloid spilled the beans, and ever the boyfriend in trouble, Casey says that`s simply because it never happened. The folks in Kentwood however LOVE to dish about this one, and they are more than a little suspicious about Casey. Some of them have even added that this girlfriend of his is related to the Spears family in some odd way, making this scandal even a little weirder than it was to begin with. This girl in fact is no stranger to Jamie Lynn, and is the same girl that Jamie elbowed in the mouth last Spring. Yep, good ol times in the Deep South folks. Jamie believes Casey, and is chalking it up to tabloid gossip, but you know….they still haven`t tied the knot so there is hope that this girl will have some sense stunned into her sooner or later. Or not.

And from the sounds of it, she may have to take some lessons from big sister in terms of how to deal with rat fink men. According to In Touch magazine, Jamie Lynn’s fiancé Casey Aldridge is a big fat cheater and has been playing a little game of Mrs. Robinson behind Jamie’s back. Casey has been connected to a 28 year old Missouri gal, Kelli Dawson and the two were pretty hot and heavy all throughout Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy. By all accounts it sounds like the relationship is over, but the two even had their own special ‘spot’ for the rendezvous, the back seat of Casey’s car. Hm, I wonder if that is where Casey’s daughter was conceived as well? But Casey’s ex lady pal says the relationship is over, because somewhere down the line she managed to find her moral compass and says ‘it just didn’t feel right…he had to deal with the baby coming’. Oh, isn’t that sweet of her? No, we wouldn’t want you to play your backseat games when there is a newborn in the midst no. Now THAT would be tacky.

Here is Jamie Lynn back in her first days of pregnancy, and since little Maddie has already entered the world, it is safe to assume that Jamie Lynn is gearing closer to the shape she was here. Reports on Jamie Lynn’s little bundle are that Maddie Briann is the cutest thing in the world. She was born with a full head of hair, and apparently, daddy’s toes. She’s described as a long and tall baby and was born at 7 lbs. 11 oz. Jamie Lynn seems to be settling into motherhood just fine, and why shouldn’t she be with a gaggle of people on hand to help her out. Following Maddie’s birth on Thursday, Jamie spent a lot of time catching up on some rest until she was discharged on Friday evening. And along with her discharge came Maddie Briann’s first true Spears family experience, as the entire Spears family had the pleasure of a police escort home. Uh, naturally. A Spears family trip just wouldn’t be the same without a police escort now, would it? And it appears that Jamie Lynn has in fact reconsidered the wedding situation. She has recently steamed over at baby daddy Casey Aldridge and called the wedding off, however now it sounds like wedding plans have resumed. Jamie Lynn, Casey, and Baby Maddie are now living in their new home together in Liberty, Mississippi and it sounds like one big dysfunctional yet happy family.

Ah yes, the population of pregnant ladies in Tinseltown is dwindling. Though I think the term ‘lady’ is one used loosely for Jamie Lynn Spears, but that’s only because she’s only 17 years old. Here she is seen during some of her last few pregnancy days looking pretty in pink as she waddles through some errand running in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. But now, her waddling days are over as Jamie Lynn gave birth to her new daughter just yesterday through an emergency C-Section. As it turns out, Jamie Lynn’s daughter was breech, and thus the C-section was necessary. And as usual, if we can count on the Spears family for anything, it would be odd baby names, are you ready? Maddie Briann Spears is the name of Jamie Lynn’s and Casey Aldridge’s little girl, and we aren’t really sure where the name actually came from. On Wednesday evening, Jamie Lynn was admitted to the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center which is about a half hour drive from her home in Kentwood, Louisiana. Jamie’s little Maddie was born at 4:30 A.M. on Thursday morning, weighing in at 7 lbs and 11 ounces. All of the Spears clan was in attendance, including baby daddy Casey Aldridge (I should hope so), Britney Spears, parents Jamie and Lynne, and hottie bachelor brother Bryan (whose sexuality is apparently undetermined). Congrats to Jamie Lynn and Casey and the rest of the Spears family. And *phew* now that they’ve got that out of the way, do you think the happy couple can still make it to prom?
