Here is Janet Jackson signing copies of her new album ‘Discipline’ at the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood last week. The album has barely been out 5 minutes and already it is not getting the best reviews. Surprised? Well, this is what happens when you’re a has-been. Despite the fact that she has a slew of A-list producers like Rodney Jerkins on the credits, the tracks do less than impress. Seems she’s trying a little TOO hard to be 2008 as there appears to be a lot of robotics, and cyber-chat, as well as long speaking *cough* not singing dialogues with friends we don’t and won’t get introduced to. The album is rocked with robotic chants, chit chats, and conversations with some kind of robot alter ego named Kyoko. You think THAT’S weird? The title track includes lyrics that do more than allude to dominatrix type scenarios. Yes, yes, she’s a Jackson, and she’s a little off-center. Maybe Janet is trying a little too hard to be 2008, and would be better off just doing what she does best. And is it just ME or does it seem more than a coincidence that her known arch-rival Paula Abdul is trying some kind of comeback as well? Hmmm…..This might get fun actually.

Love it or Hate it? hmm… hate it. Ya, it sounded pretty OK until I heard the lyrics “I’m heavy like a first day period”. emm… is there anything sexy about that? No, I didn’t think so. Janet’s album is due to be released in February of 2008 and her new song titled “Feedback” is wack. The last thing women want to hear is a song about Janet’s period, and I’m sure it’s even more gross for men. It also sounds electronic and alike to Britney Spears’ new album Black Out. Wow, I never thought I’d see the day that Janet was copying Britney. It’s a very sad day for the music industry!

Up and down and up again is the story on Janet Jackson’s weight. Poor girl, just can’t seem to catch a break. Well, I guess when you aren’t dancing 7 hours a day it’s pretty hard to keep a svelte look, unless you lay off the Twinkies. No clue here why she’s fallen apart in the eyes of Hollywood. But I am thinking, you know, she looks pretty happy. Who wouldn’t, nice life, man that worships her. I think it’s safe to say the pregnancy rumors can be squashed though, because um, the bump generally goes in front for that one. Gone are the days where she is the weight loss role model per her US Weekly Cover. If she’s happy though, let her eat cake. I don’t think she’d let you stop her anyway.
