The tiny “Simple Life” star and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, showed up for the YSL Pool Party to benefit Center Dance Arts at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday night – and she was conspicuously wearing a huge diamond engagement ring. “It was one big rock surrounded by more diamonds,” our source said. Richie refused to talk about the ring. Meanwhile, Madden was “overly attentive to her – keeping his arm around her all night – and repeatedly asked her if she was OK.” The cozy couple ate everything on their plates, lobster salad and lamb, but refused all alcohol, which our snarky spy called “a first for her.” Also at the glam gathering were Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Kristin Davis, Barbara Walters and her godson, producer Michael Manchel. ~ The NYPost

Celebrity couple, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, who have been dating since November of last year, have reportedly split-up! Different sources claim that Joel dumped Nicole for being too “clingy” and that their relationship ended during a recent trip to Australia @ the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.

A source told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Joel was acting like a single man at the awards after party and the couple openly argued in front of the crowd.”

“Nicole was in tears at one stage, but no one really knows why.”
