Fans of Johnny Depp and a good gore movie will be excited to hear about his latest work. While Depp is most recently famous for his role as the endearing pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, he is now going to the dark side in his latest film where he plays the dark and demonic barber Sweeney Todd. From the director of Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton, comes this film which is about a man, Sweeney Todd, how has recently returned to London from prison in Australia. He finds out from Mrs. Lovett, the renowned worst pie maker in London, that his wife has been raped while he was away. To get revenge on the rapist, and to also help Mrs. Lovett out with her pies, he turns into a mass murderer using the entrails of his handy work for Mrs. Lovett’s pies. Sounds YUMMY! The film is an adaptation of the hit musical, and is done almost entirely in song. But, it did not take much to create the visual effects for Depp’s role with his pale face, sunken eyes and his mass of raven colored hair. And the man can sing at that! The film is titled Sweeney Todd, and if you’re looking for some good gore and some genuine Depp ‘depth’, keep an eye out for it.

Because I have to say, some celebrities just don’t age well, and while not everyone can be George Clooney, there are noted celebs that just don’t pass the trials of time well at all. Thank GOODNESS Johnny Depp isn’t one of those. Here he is at the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday looking yummy as ever. I think it’s his sexy rumpled hair and that unshaven bad boy thing that just works so well for him. And there are some, I won’t mention but we ALL know the grease pits of Hollywood, that just can’t pull this off the same way. Celebrity hottie, Johnny Depp, has proposed to his long-time love, Parisian socialite, Vanessa Paradis. Luckily, their daughter Lily-Rose, 7, is recovering from a serious life threatning illness, acute blood poisoning, that was in March of this year. Congratulations to the happy couple!
