Yep, we’ve all seen this one coming. It’s the kind of ugly battle we sort of wince while we cross our fingers and hope for the amicable best but yet, it never happens in these high profile cases, does it? The custody battle between Guy Ritchie and Madonna and their three children has officially started. And since Madonna is touring on her Sweet N Sticky Tour, while Guy Ritchie is directing ‘Sherlock Holmes’ in London, and the kids are actually in NEW YORK, I am not sure how either of them plans to be very successful here in proving what stellar parents they are. Yes, the mini Madonna-lets are Lourdes who is 12, Rocco who is 8, and their adopted son together David who is 3. Lourdes is Maddona’s child by another father, so she may escape the heat here. Though, given that Madonna and her hectic schedule have already been granted custody of Lourdes, Guy’s fight to gain sole custody of Rocco and David may not go well. Guy wants them raised in London, and Madonna has taken up full-time residence in New York when she is not touring. So what to do with the kids? Well, since they see more of their nannies than anyone else, this is where the ugliness is starting. And my bet is that some sweet nannies are going to be paid handsomely to talk very sweet and not so sticky about their employer Madonna. But the first stage will be to grill them sufficiently, and find some dirt. Guy then is hoping to pair said dirt with the fact that Madonna’s time is more devoted to her career than her kids, and given that he’s had the luxury of sitting on his behind for a few years, that may bode well in is favour. But since the family courts rarely if ever separate siblings, and Madonna already has Lourdes, well….I think this will be another point for Madonna, and zilcho for Mr. Ritchie. But that’s not to say it can’t get ugly in the meantime. Because we all know it will.

Madonna is seen here in what was probably one of her last public events with her now estranged husband, Guy Ritchie. The two appeared together at the Punchbowl Pub in Mayfair to celebrate Guy’s 40th birthday. And unbeknownst to us, this appearance together was just that, an appearance, as by this time, they had already decided they were done for good and were just ‘making face’ for the public. Now, as we know, the couple have filed for divorce and are fighting their way through what might be one of Hollywood’s ugliest divorce battles. It’s gotten so ugly that the two are throwing out public and heinous accusations about the other. Madonna is saying that he cheated on her, Guy is saying that she’s spying on him, and he’s also accused her of acting out in rage. Yet despite the one ugly accusation after another, the two have at least remembered that there are children involved, and it sounds like Madonna is being proactive, as far as one of Guy’s accusations is concerned. Should it ever get to an ugly custody suit, which it well may, Madonna is working to ensure that she is not seen as the raging spy bull that Guy is painting her out to be. Instead, she is seeking anger management help through her Kabbalah religion in order to soothe her emotions and give herself some peace throughout the entire processes. She is seeking counselling through the Kabbalah center in New York City to help her cope with her anger towards Guy and his cold treatment towards her during their marriage. This may be the sanest thing we have heard come out of this ugly divorce situation, which proves yet again that of the two, Madonna is clearly the one with a solid head on her shoulders and is taking proactive steps in the right direction.

As predicted, things are getting worse before they are getting better for either party in the Mr. and Mrs. Madonna divorce battle. When you are dealing with assets and estates the size of theirs, it is bound to. This may even rival the ugliness of the Paul McCartney/Heather Mills battles that still leave a foul taste in many mouths. The two have reached the inevitable lows where they accuse each other of anything and everything in the most public way possible. First we have Mr. Madonna, Guy Ritchie claiming that Madonna is going all KGB on him and spying on his every move. Apparently she knew of a private dinner he had with his family to discuss the pending divorce and well, guess he forgot that even though he’s Mr. Madonna, he’s still in the public eye and these things are bound to get out. But Madonna is accusing him also of having relationships with a certain 6 foot model (Tanya Strecker) one that was going on when the couple met, and she says, has continued into the marriage. She’s also accused him of only marrying her for her money and has said that, were it not for her assets, he would have stayed with Tanya and married her instead. And again, the couple does not have a pre-nuptial agreement, so we are talking a very sizable settlement on the table here, if Madonna can prove that he has been unfaithful, Guy’s sizable settlement shrinks with every shred of evidence she can pull up. So if she’s going KGB on him, more power to her I say, she’s only protecting what is actually hers since she pulled in about 95% of their marital assets. And….if he’s getting snaky about being spied on, perhaps that could be because he has something to hide. Because innocent people that get spied on, don’t generally act with outrage over a simple family dinner. They may get irked that their privacy is invaded, but the standard response for the innocent is ‘go ahead, I have nothing to hide’. Soo…if we are going to be keeping track here, I would say Madonna has garnered a few points in being proactive and smart, whereas Guy well…he’s acting a little squirrely to be all that innocent. He defends himself by saying ‘this is a divorce, not the Cold War’ and also says that what were once hopes of a dignified and quiet divorce are out the window. Yet he has been the least quiet of the two parties. And hello, quiet divorce? Did he FORGET who he was married to? Hm. This is only beginning, there’s still a whole lotta time before the anticipated Christmas finalization, so again….expect some more bloodshed in the interim.

Well, it’s official and we’ve all seen this coming for some time. It’s kind of like when a celebrity couple announces they are trying for a baby one day, and then the next they are three months along. Kind of. But in this case, it’s the divorce between Guy Ritchie and Madonna that has finally been officially announced to the public. After eight years of marriage, the two have filed for divorce and hope to have it finalized by Christmas, which to me, suggests the filing occurred many, many months ago. As a two month divorce process in a marriage with assets well over the $500 million dollar mark, does not good sense make. Some of the speculation surrounding their split has come from an allegedly unfair linking between Madonna and New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, but both camps say this is not the case. But what and when did this happen, as just this past July we were told there were ‘no plans to divorce’ from the Madonna reps. The couple have two children together, Rocco who is 8 and David Banda who is 3, an adoptee from Malawi in 2006. Madonna also has 12 year old Lourdes from a relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon. And, assets in the marriage between homes in London, Los Angeles, New York, and Wilthsire, England total over $525 million, with the bulk of that belonging to Madonna. Ritchie’s contribution to the marital assets are a meagre $35 million, which compared to Madonna is small potatoes, but when compared to the average human being, isn’t too shabby. Lawyers are saying now that the couple is hoping to come to an amicable settlement before heading into the court system, but with numbers that big, anything could happen at this point. People have a nasty way of changing when a divorce is pending and dollar signs are being thrown all over the place. And it would not surprise me in the least if Madonna is to shell out some alimony coin at the end of the day here. Particularly since Guy’s career hasn’t exactly blossomed, and he has become known more as Mr. Madonna than a talented actor, as his recent movie, ‘RocknRolla’ has gotten mixed reviews which is a nice way of saying thumbs WAY down. Overall, both camps are saying that the needs of the children and not dollars and cents will be the biggest priority of the settlement, but yes, we have all heard this before. And it sounds like both sides are actually kind of relieved over the situation, yet another suggestion that the two have had this in the works for some time. Both being such big public figures, not being able to talk about this and pretending like all is well must have been quite the challenge. But Guy says that he is doing fine and is sort of relieved that he doesn’t have to fake it anymore. All in all, this chapter is over. And poor Guy Ritchie will suffer the biggest fall out I am sure. As we all know, Madonna is strong and can stand on her own two feet and her career may even thrive as a result. But for Guy, well, once the headlines from the settlement dwindle into ashes, he will have a VERY hard time trying to be someone other than Mr. Madonna.

Sean Penn and Madonna are just two of those people that will always just have a connection no matter where their lives take them. Yes, they had a hot and heavy roller coaster marriage thing going back in the day, and even today the two share intimate details with each other. Just recently, Sean got the urge to pop Madonna a text after he experienced his first gay kiss. But no, Sean isn’t gay. He had to kiss his co-star James Franco in his new movie ‘Milk’ and he wanted Madonna to hear ALL about it. Of course, Madonna has plenty of experience there, just ask Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, so I guess he thought he would bond with her over yet another shared experience. But Sean didn’t want anyone to know about his texty text as it was co-star James that revealed it after seeing the text to Madonna that said:

I just popped my cherry kissing a guy. I thought of you. I don’t know why

Awww….Sean still thinks of Madonna, even when he is kissing MEN. Weird! As for his role in ‘Milk’ it sounds like it’s a pretty racy one. With another co-star, Mark Martinez, Sean has to get hot and heavy there as well. Mark plays a cross-dressing disco singer in the film, and said the kiss between them seemed to last ‘forever’.

I’m performing, and Sean comes onto the dance floor. He grabs me, and he just slaps the biggest kiss on me. It felt like the kiss was forever. I’m like, ‘Is he going to stop?’ I had to close my eyes, I just couldn’t believe it!”

Huh. So Sean is enjoying these new experiences it seems one after the other. Interesting. But not in the least surprising.
