Mariah Carey is one of those ladies that really seems to show off the vixen no matter what shape or size she is in, and here she is showing off her glorious vixen shape while filming a new music video on the beach in Los Angeles. The Precious pop star oozed nothing but glam as she danced and sang for the camera while wearing a revealing but sexy one piece suit. And though she looks happy and sexy and uber glam right here, we do know that this Precious girl has a little bit of a dark history. She has in the past alluded to a history of abuse, and now it seems that as time passes, she is willing to offer a little more insight into this. She has officially come out admitting she was ”abused” in a relationship, hinting it was at the hands of ex-husband Tommy Mottola. Mariah Carey- who married actor-and-rapper Nick Cannon in 2008 - has spoken out about how she has been affected by the struggle she faced in previous relationships and hinted her ex-husband Tommy Mottola was responsible for her ordeal. On abuse she says,

“Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in. If your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on. For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.”

Mariah wed music executive Tommy in 1993 after he signed her to the music label CBS Records. They separated just three years later and divorced in 1998. And what has led Mariah to this public admission? The heated case of Rihanna and Chris Brown. The 40-year-old beauty spoke out in support of ‘Rehab’ singer Rihanna, who was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown earlier this year following a pre-Grammy’s party. Mariah flat out admitted she can empathize with the 21-year-old starlet’s experience of domestic abuse. She told TV talk show host Larry King:

“I was very sequestered, as you know, when I first started out and if I were just allowed to be young and with a young boyfriend who’s also a star and you know, you’re working and you’re both ? I don’t know what goes on. You know what I mean? So it’s like, I wasn’t really allowed out of the house, so I can’t imagine what she went through.”

Yes, isolation is definitely a hallmarker of abusers, so we can only hope that any woman connected with the man Mariah is referring to is extremely careful. But what else is Mariah up to, and can we expect more smiles than not in the future? Children may be on the way, as the singer-turned-actress says she is desperate to have children with Nick, but is waiting for a gap in her career.

“Being pregnant would be the happiest thing in my life, but what I’m saying is right now with this movie ‘Precious’ coming out, with the next few singles from the album and those things that I’m doing, I need to focus on that because I cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway.”

And no, when it comes to Mariah, we certainly wouldn’t ask for anything but a job well done, but that’s not something we have to worry about with this one, is it?

Mariah Carey was on Oprah the other day, and you would be surprised what the girls fit into their one hour chat. Mariah talked a little about her new album, ‘Touch My Body’ that has just made history with its first single, E=MC2 making number one with Billboard. This will be her 18th number one hit, making her third behind Elvis and The Beatles for number one hits in a career. But it wasn’t silly little stuff like that that Oprah wanted to dish about. Oprah and Mariah discussed Mariah’s weight loss, a journey for Mariah that started after she attended Oprah’s Leadership Academy for Girls in January 2007. And the real juice Oprah was after? The scoop on Mariah’s nearly 3,000 sq. foot closet. No, that’s not a typo. And she’s even got her own lingerie closet, just for, you guessed it, lingerie. That closet alone most girls would kill for to contain ALL their clothes. Heck, some of us wouldn’t mind a blinking HOUSE that big. And really, you have to see it to believe it.

Here is the cover of Mariah Carey’s latest album cover, an album that is due to be released in April. By all accounts, just looking at this cover would make her out to be a very confident and self-assured woman, but Mariah has said otherwise. She knows she’s got an image that is somewhat ‘ditzy’ and because of this she says she has some self-esteem issues. In an interview with Allure magazine, Mariah talked about how she knew people considered her a bit of a ‘ditzy moron’ but that she understood. Ever since she was treated in 2001 for exhaustion after her highly publicized meltdown, Mariah has been struggling with her confidence and self-esteem. About the ditzy thing, well, you have to know she sort of brought that on herself. If it walks like a duck….but as far as self-esteem, it’s kind of sad really. I mean, what is the world coming to if diva’s like Mariah Carey have self-esteem issues?? Scary!

Ouch! This one hits a personal note with us since we’re two Gucci loving girls. Mariah Carey was snapped yesterday while shopping @ Gucci on Rodeo Drive. Oh yes, she’s a special client… they don’t break out the Champs for just anyone… ohh no. You’ve got to be a serious B-list celeb and up to get that kinda VIP treatment. She sipped while oogling diamonds and trying to decide which to buy. Oh, the stress! Mim’s just get two of each, it’s much simpler that way. Oh, and you can send the extras to us. Claudia and I’d never look a gift-horse in the mouth. I wonder what she ended up buying?

Here is Mariah Carey in New York City at the VH1’s Save the Music event last Thursday. Oh, and she’s not just sporting some nifty butterfly logo jewelry either. That’s right, the shot here apparently didn’t have a wide enough lens to capture all of her 9 assistants she had in tow. That’s right, 9 others along for the ride to ensure Mariah had every need met during the show. Now THAT makes some other stars look like a workhorse! What could she possibly need 9 people for? I have to wonder. I also have to wonder… why she thinks she’s still such a mega-star that she even needs that many people. I mean, believe it or not there are probably people out there who haven’t actually even heard of this woman. But ah well, I guess this is what happens when you have too much money and you’re just THAT lazy.
