Natalie Portman is seen here looking a little less than red carpet ready in jeans and a T-shirt for the Venice Film Festival earlier this month. Perhaps her dress down was an example of the hippy bo-ho influence that her then boyfriend Devendra Banhart had on her. But it sounds like Natalie and folk rocker Devandra have called it off for good and their starry eyed romance has come to an end. The two have been literally inseparable since last March, when Natalie starred in his ‘Carmenista’ video and they have made no bones to hide grandiose public displays of affection as they walked the streets of New York in Central Park and fed each sushi at Jewel Bako. The couple have also traveled extensively together since the video shoot, and have been to Cannes together as well as to Israel. But you know what they say about those May to December romances, and it looks like this one didn’t even quite make it to Christmas. Perhaps now Natalie will appear a little more like her usual red carpet self for these big events. I am not all together surprised or disappointed about this. I always thought them the oddest match, but we have seen odd matches do very well in Hollywood so I was giving this one a chance. But Natalie is always looking so elegant, and poised, and when standing next to her hippy boyfriend something just didn’t click with me. Oh well, we will see what man candy is next on Natalie’s arm, and I have a hunch it won’t be long.

Well well Spring fever is certainly in the air for many of our celebs as they seem to be linking up left right and center. Here is Natalie Portman with her new stylin boyfriend, Devandra Banhart. He is nothing but 100% hippy, which suits Natalie’s personality well, as we know she is actively in support of all things natural and peace-like. The couple were seen hanging out in New York City enjoying a walk through the West Village. Devandra is a hippy folk rock singer and songwriter, and his song ‘There’s Always Something Happening’ appears on a FINCA benefit compilation Natalie put together for iTunes. She’ll also make an appearance in his next video, ‘Carmensita’ which the couple shot at his home in L.A. last weekend. This is the first guy she’s been linked to since model Nathan Bogle, last November. I think it’s cute, but….the matching coats, not so much.

Here is Natalie Portman gracing the cover of Marie Claire UK this month, and she also blesses her fans with a huge photo shoot inside the covers. But for those of you that may not know Natalie very well, this girl is not just a pretty face. Natalie herself has an education from Harvard University, where she graduated in 2003 with a Psychology degree. But that’s not all, she’s also perfectly fluent in Hebrew which is the mother tongue of her Israeli father. Because of all of this, she’s gaining a reputation in Hollywood as a little ‘cold’ and a little too ‘brainy’. Well you know, anyone that is saying that has just got to be jealous, because brainy and Hollywood don’t exactly mix well. But Natalie talks to Marie Claire candidly about growing up. Most of her childhood was spent with her dad training to be a doctor, so they never had any major wealth. She describes herself as spoiled because her dad would do anything for her, even turning the backseat of the car into a mini apartment for her. But she wasn’t spoiled in the *too much money* kind of way, as family vacations were spent driving to Disneyland or Ohio to visit her grandmother, in the family’s old Chevy. So if you are the kind that can appreciate celebrities with a little depth, Natalie Portman definitely seems to have it all.

For those that aren’t die hard fans of Natalie Portman, you may not be aware that this girl is a die-hard tree hugging hippy vegan who is using her celebrity to take a stand against animal rights and environmental issues. Oh, and she also loves pretty shoes. So… to merge those two loves of hers, she has partnered with retailer Te Casan to create an all new vegan friendly line of shoes. No animal products for these babies. And wow, they are PRETTY. She loves the high end shoes, but has a hard time finding those that follow her beliefs, so she decided to come up with her own line. Oh, and to top it all off, she’s only making a statement off of this, she’s not earning a penny. All proceeds from her fancy new footwear line will go to The Nature Conservancy. A girl who loves pretty things AND has a big heart. You just can’t not love that.

Well you boys are going to LOVE this one. Just in case some of the steamy scenes in Closer weren’t quite enough for you (and we know they weren’t so we’ll show ‘em again) you will get at least a little more of your fantasies met in Natalie Portman’s new short flick Hotel Chevalier. It seems the girl is baring a little more than she has in the past and you will get some big time bootie shots. Unfortunately, this will also entail a scene where a man is actually undressing her, you’ll just have to use your imagination to erase him out of the shot. In one of the first scenes her co-star Jason Schwartzman undresses her and we see her from behind. About 10 minutes later she is unclothed and standing against a dresser. What can I say? You’ll just have to put this one on your list of must-sees if you are a Portman fan.

There seems to be a little she said she said on Natalie Portman’s upcoming movie Goya’s Ghost. Some reports are saying she has nudity in it, others are saying no. Other reports are veering more towards the ‘unclothed’ aspect of Natalie stating that in one frame there is the shot of a long nude body, but she claims it’s not her. She is so vehement in fact that she will be really angry if she finds out websites are out there touting she is nude in this flick, though she will admit to some ‘unclothed’ scenes. For starters, not wearing clothing IS nudity so I am confused as to the difference here. Anyone have thoughts? Further, I have to say, who cares if she is or isn’t? She is smoking for one thing and can pull it off, and she is a brilliant actress to boot. Now THOSE things will getcha an Oscar, not a big wardrobe debacle.

Natalie was out for dinner this past weekend in NYC in a dress that leaves very little to the imagination, what do you think?
