Well, we have certainly seen Jessica Simpson in a lot of moods since her divorce from Nick Lachey, which was followed by about twelve breakups with Player Mayer, a heartbreak from heartthrob Tony Romo, and the list goes on. So, for some, it may be difficult to guess what exactly is causing the sad look on Jessica’s face this time. Here she is proving just how healthy her relationship with former husband Nick Lachey really is, as she was spotted here in the car after leaving Red O restaurant from a night of dining…with ex husband Nick Lachey and his new fiancée Vanessa Minnilo. While those of us in reality land have seen this coming for some time, for Jessica, it was quite the nail on the marriage coffin and her face says it all. And if you can’t guess what she is thinking, her “people” and our friend “Close Source” have all the juice. The official word is that Jessica is “deeply saddened” by ex-husband Nick Lachey’s engagement. The blonde beauty is said to be upset her former spouse – who she married in October 2002 – has proposed to current partner Vanessa Minnillo, who he started dating just months after his divorce from the ‘Dukes of Hazard’ star was finalized in 2006. A source close to Jessica – who famously vowed to stay a virgin until she got married – said:

“Even though Jessica wants to be happy for Nick, this is a very difficult time for her. Nick was the love of her life then and he was her first, so she will always have a very special place in her heart for him. She’s deeply saddened.”

According to friends of Nick – who briefly separated from Vanessa last summer before the pair reconciled – the singer had not planned to marry again after being hurt so badly from his union with Jessica, but finally feels secure in his relationship with the actress. One insider told gossip website PopEater: “Nick knows what it’s like to lose someone that you love and wasn’t going to let it happen again.

“He never thought he would ever get married again after Jessica broke his heart. He never thought he would ever allow himself to be vulnerable again, but after dating for a long time he trusts Vanessa and knows she’s the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with.”

We aren’t too sure how reputable this Close Source is, given this would be the first time we’ve ever heard Nick claiming a broken heart at the hands of Simpson, but hey, he has feelings too. For Vanessa apparently. We wish them nothing but the best, and a little hug for Jessica as she moves on. That’s right sweetie, not many people on this planet actually stay with “the first” so move on sweetheart, live life like the rest of us for a while.

Here is Vanessa Minnillo at LAX getting ready to fly out of Los Angeles the other day. Vanessa is definitely a girl with a big soft heart, she may not have her man candy on her arm, but she definitely didn’t leave her pooch at home and ensured her pup was boarding safely with her. And speaking of her man candy, Nick Lachey wanted to do a little something creative when it came to Vanessa’s Valentines’ present. Apparently the two share the same birthday, and then with Christmas and everything, he just wanted something special for her. So what does a former boy band member do for his sweetheart on Valentine’s Day? Yep, a love song, that he wrote. And made a demo of. If I’d written the script it couldn’t have been more predictable. And what did his true love get him for Valentine’s? An Apple TV of course. Nuthin’ says lovin’ like some good ol’ fashioned HDTV!

Here we have Nick Lachey and a female friend of his dipping into some Valentine sweets a little bit early. Nick was picking up the pink boxed goodies at La Conversacion, a trendy restaurant in Beverly Hills. In other Nick news, he has found a way to transform one of his favorite past-times into a lucrative venture for charity. Last weekend Nick and two-time reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Champ Jimmie Johnson hosted their first annual Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Proceeds totaled over $400,000 K and benefited both the Nick Lachey Foundation as well as the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, both organizations are in support of various non-profits that help those in need. Ah, he’s cute, AND he’s gotta big heart.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo recently vacayed in Mexico and apparently it was nothing but a love fest. In fact, so much so that they got snapped during some quiet moments wearing nothing but their birthday suit. I have a hunch this could have been planned for some PR, but it’s hard to say. However, they are not exactly A-listers, and we see this kind of thing happen all the time when celebs need a little extra time in the spotlight. And since really these two have given us really nothing to talk about other than that they travel together, this will do for now. Everyone loves a good booby shot though anyway, don’t they? Even if it’s from someone we really don’t give a rats behind about.
