Oooh! My my! Vis a vis Jessica Alba style, minus the public announcement, we may have a newlywed couple among us. Here you are seeing one of our fave hippie chic couples enjoying some down time time at the DCMA retail store in Los Angeles. But this is one couple that has snuck right under the radar despite their many spotting in and about the Hills of Beverly. Yes, we have heard that baby Sparrow has finally made his appearance, and that just seemed to crop up out of nowhere. And now there is some word that a wedding did at some point as well. That’s right folks, former publicity hound Nicole Richie has done better than even Jennifer Aniston as far as keeping us guessing. It seems that Nicole Richie might have a secret, and it’s not that she promised Rumpelstiltzkin her Lionel Richie inheritance in return for making her baby weight magically disappear overnight. She married Joel Madden, her partner of three years and father of her two children, a source told Radar. But just in case an unidentified random pal named Close Source confiding in Radar doesn’t convince you, check out what TMZ turned up. On the birth certificate for Nicole and Joel’s newborn baby Sparrow, his name is listed as Sparrow James Midnight Madden. This differs from their one-year-old, Harlow, who has the last name Richie Madden. How married of them! Of course, back in Nicole’s badass days, she was known to get a little cheeky on official documentation. Nicole, who is biracial, identified herself as “white” on her 2003 arrest record, then “black” on her 2006 arrest record. So if Nicole’s race flip-flops, the last name of her child doesn’t necessarily have to stay the same. If you want to know what kind of people they are, how about focusing on the kid’s first name, Sparrow? They may or may not be married, but they are definitely sharing a life together as Hollywood weirdos. And that’s okay. Because the cookie cutter cuties that everyone likes to talk about are getting boring. We like to dish about those that keep us guessing. And Nicole’s free spirit is one that you just can’t help but love. We wish them both nothing but the best whether they are married or not.

Nicole Richie is seen here looking glamorous and fabulously bohemian, holding true to her personal and super chic and sexy style on the red carpet. She is at an event teaming up with superstar Pete Wentz to promote her jewellery range “House of Harlow” while Pete promoted his Clandestine Industries clothing line. If you like Nicole’s style, and want to have some of her own, then you will love her bohemian 70’s inspired necklaces and earrings to add that touch of retro bohemian chic. As long as Nicole is around to inspire us, we know the super chic retro look will never go out of style. Even so however, this new mom of two now may look glamorous and challenge free, but she does have her share of troubles. Monday she was in a car accident than led her to the hospital. Though by all looks and accounts she was not injured terribly, and it was only a rear ender, it was a close enough call to send her to the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to get checked out. The rear ender was created by some over zealous paparazzi in Beverly Hills, and it lead to more trouble than a picture is worth for the offending media rep. According to the recently released police statement:

“Nicole was driving with a passenger at around 2pm when she was struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her. She has complained of pain…her car sustained moderate damage. No paramedics were called to the scene. She told officers she was going to seek her own medical treatment, so it’s unknown if she’s headed to the hospital or not.”

The driver who hit Nicole is being arrested and booked for being unlicensed because “officers could not verify his identification.” He was physically brought to the station in what will likely lead to a misdemeanour traffic violation. Luckily, Nicole’s two children were not in the vehicle at the time, but this incident can not help but bring back memories of Princess Diana who lost her life at the hands of crazed paparazzi. After the accident, reports did confirm that she spent several hours at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, but was released the same day. The following day, her mom Brenda Richie spent some time with her at home, along with her two kids Harlow who is almost 2, and her most recent arrival, Sparrow who is just a wee one month babe. The driver of the other vehicle has since been identified as Eduardo Arrivebene, was as mentioned initially arrested for driving without a license but was later freed on $1,225 bail. Nicole’s reps won’t comment on the injuries or pain she was treated for at Cedars, but it is reported that she has since hired celebrity attorney Mark Geragos so there may be a civil suit pending. And how did we miss the announcement of little Sparrow? We’re thrilled to hear that Nicole is fine and well on the way to recovery, and happy belated birthday little Sparrow!

We have been following this cute foursome for some time. Nicole and Paris are BFF’s that love to hate each other, and love to love each other. They can’t decide how close they are so we’ve almost given up on them as BFFs. Then we have Nicole with her boyfriend Joel Madden with whom she has baby Harlowe, so they seem to be one of the more solid Hollywood couples as we haven’t heard anything about relationship strife between these two. Enter Paris and Benji, Joel’s brother and a couple that was touted as heading for the aisle one day. Of course we know that Paris and Benji didn’t quite make it that far, in fact, she never even got the ring on her finger, and they split up in what is sounding like a rather ugly split. And from the other side of the camp, Nicole can’t seem to decide if she is relieved that Benji is out of Paris’s life, or if she wants them back together, so much so that she is currently sabotaging any chances Benji is taking to ‘move on’. At a recent party at the L.A. Ecco Ultra Lounge, Joel Madden was DJ’ing, and Nicole was doing the supportive girlfriend baby mama thing. Benji Madden was doing the supportive twin brother thing and was also in attendance at the party. Of course, Benji was sans Paris and was seemingly enjoying the single life until Nicole got involved. As Benji and Nicole were chatting it up, a busty blonde in some kind of pletherette ensemble tried to divert his attention towards her, and Benji was all over that like stink on a pig. And onlookers described the entire event like this:

Benji was approached by dozens of ladies. Girls were trying to flirt with him… but Nicole kept getting in the way. She stopped every girl trying to take a photo of him [and] dragged him by the arm [away from the girls.

Of course Nicole had to rush off to Le Deux later that evening to meet up with Paris and give her the full low down, and you can only imagine how thrilled Paris was over that situation. And given that Paris has been known to be stalking Benji and not handling the breakup all that well, I wonder what kind of cat claws towards her ex are going to come out now. Or maybe just maybe, Paris will wise up and realize that yes, there is nothing wrong with simply moving on, and getting over it. And we all just wish she would.

Nicole Richie is seen here visiting the People’s Revolution store on Melrose Avenue this week where Lauren Conrad was filming scenes for ‘The Hills’. And even in her most casual wear, Nicole was looking fabulous in jeans and a white vest that she paired with a blue scarf, Hollywood’s latest must have. And things for Nicole have been fairly hum ho these days, she hasn’t been up to much other than mommy hood and finishing out her traffic school sentence from her DUI. She has even been in domestic squabbles, though nothing serious, with her fiancé and baby daddy Joel Madden. From the sounds of it, Joel has been considering getting another tattoo, but this is something she has put her foot down. Oddly enough, Joel wanted to have a tattoo of their six month old Harlow etched onto his tooth of all places, and Nicole reportedly lost her temper over the whole situation. He had said some time ago, promised even, that he wasn’t going to get any more tattoos, but when a friend suggested doing something out of the box, such as the tooth tattoo, he wanted to go for it. The tattoo would consist of a photo being etched on his tooth, and he wanted a face of baby Harlow etched onto his enamel. Nicole freaked, surprise surprise despite the fact that if it really became an issue he could have it later sanded off by a dentist. Joel is definitely not new to the tattoo game, and has approximately 10 at current count with most of them being on his arms. His first tattoo was that of an Irish flag, a tattoo that he and his twin Benji got just over the elbow. Is it surprising that Nicole would say no to this? Uh no, absolutely not. I think a tooth tattoo is kind of freakish if you ask me, and one of your child, even weirder. What kind of kid wants to grow up with that reputation? But it sounds like Nicole is really hunkering down into domestic bliss, and this is why she wants to control Joel’s wilder urges. She has even been said to be thinking about a second child. Though earlier this year it was speculated that her empire waisted outfits were hiding a baby bump for baby #2, it sounds like she wasn’t really pregnant at all. But she’s not closed the door on it, and says ‘if it happens, it happens’. Can’t blame her seeing as how fast she lost the first bundle of baby weight, she always looks great. But you know how it is when celebs say they are ‘thinking’ about having another baby. Yep. My guess is an official announcement will be in the pipeline sometime soon.

Nicole Richie is seen here leaving her standard court mandated traffic school, an education she is required to undergo after having been arrested for DUI last year. She’s seen looking pretty and hippy as usual, but has foregone her normal tight fitted tops and heels for a more relaxed dress with flat sandals. And it seems that Nicole has been wearing a lot of more um, comfortable pieces these days, a fashion switch that has sparked some pregnancy rumors. Her personal style is pretty as usual, but she’s made a definite change to looser fitting clothing and flat footwear. Some sources are confirming that Nicole is pregnant again with her second child, and from the sounds of it, not all that unplanned this go around. Nicole is in love with her new family, and has been wanting a baby brother or sister for Harlow for a while now, saying that she wanted Harlow’s sibling to be close in age so that they could have a close relationship. Harlow is still only five months old, so if Nicole does have #2 on the way, she will definitely have her hands full, but she doesn’t want her children to be more than two years apart so that they can be ‘best friends forever’. And, given that Nicole has not been shy about some of her more recent parent moments, typically about regretting the DUI and calling it the worst mistake she’s ever made, it could well be that the little bimbo from the Simple Life is growing up. Once again, what are the chances of any of this rubbing off on Paris? Mind you, Paris adding to the global gene pool is one scary thought, so let’s hope it’s just the maturity that Paris gleans from her BFF.

Nicole Richie is seen here as she attends her court mandated Traffic School in Van Nuys. The traffic school is a part of her probation agreement after having been arrested for a DUI last year. Last year Nicole spent a total of 80 minutes in jail for being caught driving the wrong way down a Los Angeles freeway as a result of some impaired choices she made while driving. While at first the hippy starlet was slammed for being so reckless, as well as for acting so flip about trying to get out of her charges, it seems that Nicole has finally grown up a little bit about her mistake, and all because she’s a mom now. She is publicly saying now that she will never forgive herself for her DUI conviction, as well as for acting so cavalier about the charges and trying to get out of them. At this point, she has finally realized how terrifying her decisions could have been and that she may have actually killed someone. All of this hindsight is the result of watching some news with her baby daddy Joel Madden, where they saw a series on drunk drivers and were shown hideous pictures of children being seriously injured or killed by drunk drivers. She describes it as her first ‘real parent moment’ and when she saw that, she felt like the worst person in the world. She has since vowed never to play chicken with the law again, and she wants to set a positive example to her five month old daughter Harlow.

“There’s absolutely no way I will do anything like that again. I never took life seriously before. I’m in a completely different place now. I owe my baby my life. I have a responsibility now. I have to really be someone I want my child to look up to. I think it’s important for every child to look up to their parent. I want to show her the right path.”

It’s great to see the maturity of celebrities when they normally have the stereotype that they just don’t care about these issues. Let’s hope some of that maturity will rub off on her BFF Paris. What do you think the chances are?

Here is Nicole Richie hanging out outside of the DCMA store in Los Angeles this week. She was joined by her boyfriend and baby daddy Joel Madden and his brother Benji at one point. And it seems that Joel is going to have to keep the boyfriend title, at least for a little while, as it seems that the happy parenting team are not headed down the aisle any time soon. Both partners say that they don’t have plans for that right now, but that they are just enjoying their daughter, enjoying being a family, and just enjoying happiness. They say marriage means something different to everyone…..not sure what that means, marriage since the general concept is pretty consistent straight across the board, but they are Tinseltown’s favorite hippy pair, aren’t they? It seems that all they want to focus on is ‘happiness’ and ‘being happy’ and ‘making each other happy’. Perhaps they’ve been in Hollywood too long since, for most people, that IS what marriage is all about. Good that they aren’t rushing then!
