Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car on Wednesday morning, Septemeber 7th, but fortunately she only suffered minor injuries!

When jogging in Santa Monica, Reese was struck by a car, going around 20 mph, while crossing the crosswalk. The driver was an 85 year old woman who was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

It’s been a long time since we saw the names Ryan and Reese in the same conversation, but in Hollywood, exes have a very funny way of creeping back into someone’s life…and conversation. And it seems that even Reese Witherspoon is not exempt from this, as here she is seen out and about shopping at the trendy Brentwood Country Mart looking just ever so fabulous. But you know, what’s really going on with her? It sounds like her and Ryan are being found in the same conversation again, as former Hollywood golden couple Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe seem to be following a suspiciously similar relationship trajectory. We would think someone as sweet and seemingly innocent as Reese Witherspoon wouldn’t have much to gab about, but….really? Let’s see if we can follow these two. Phillippe split with long-time girlfriend, Australian actress Abbie Cornish a month ago just after Witherspoon bid adieu to her leading man of two years, actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Now the parents of two have been spotted holding hands in public for the first time with their new flames – within days of each other. The “New York Post” reports Phillippe walked into the launch party for Snoop Doggs latest album at the Roosevelt Hotel on Monday night – Witherspoon’s birthday – holding a pretty brunette’s hand and kissing her throughout the bash. A source said the mystery woman was in her 20s, had long dark brown hair and wore “very tight jeans,” adding that she and Phillippe shared four bottles of champagne with friends. Just two days before, Witherspoon had been photographed enjoying a cozy birthday weekend getaway with her hunky new boyfriend, CAA agent Jim Toth. The low-key duo was snapped in ball caps and sweats, strolling hand-in-hand through a farmer’s market in Ojai, California, where the bubbly blonde star has a vacation home. They were papped again mid-week back in L.A. loading up on groceries and wine and looking very much like a comfortable old married couple. Life and Style magazine reports the lovebirds have gone from casual to committed in a matter of weeks. “They spend several nights a week together,” said a source, adding that Toth, who had a reputation for being a player in the past, lost his father last year and has since “reassessed his life.”

While Witherspoon, 34, seems to be focused these days on revelling in her red-hot relationship, her career is about to take centre stage again. She recently signed up to star in “The Pioneer Woman,” about a woman who falls in love with a cowboy while on a cross-country road trip and winds up living on an Oklahoma ranch. The LA Times reports the Oscar-winner is also in talks to star in the new rodeo love story, “Paper Wings,” opposite Tom Cruise, who would play a rodeo champion who falls for an up-and-coming country singer, played by Witherspoon. Well, it is sweet that Reese has a smile on her face again, and since we like her so much, we won’t whine about where the smile is coming from. As for Ryan? Well, it doesn’t sound like he’s changed much, has it? And it seems that the only way he can get back in the same sentence with Reese Witherspoon is if he is seen with a drunk skank on the night of Reese’s birthday. Shocking.

Reese herself has even worked very hard to quash the rumors, going on about what a great cook Jake is, how fabby he is with the kids, and what a funny man he is gush gush gush. But now it seems that the official word has sprung that neither his funniness nor cuisinart skills meant a damn thing when it came right down to it. The latest speculation comes from US Weekly, with the reason behind the split being that Jake wanted to get married, and Reese wasn’t wanting to rush things. There’s another speculation floating she wasn’t too sure how he would do with her kids on a permanent basis. And lastly, if you want to believe every rumor spinning on the mill, Reese drove the car to splitsville and Jake is devastated. Another rumor is that Jake said goodbye to her for being a “tight ass” and that she was just not that much fun to be with as she used to be. Or not. Bottom line is they are holidaying separately, and to say he had problems with her kids can’t possibly be true considering they’ve been together for well over a year. If you ask me, her first husband was a complete doinkus, and she’s afraid to go through that heartbreak again. Who can blame her. Regardless, it’s a sad breakup, I was really rooting for these two. SO cute together.

Ah yes, even the best of journies have their little bumps along the road, and it seems to be the case for Reese and Jake. And this time we aren’t talking about the dogs just not getting along. No, sounds like real relationship issues are in the works for these two, but they are those of the normal variety when you are in a long term, and sometimes long distance relationship. With heavy production schedules and work taking Jake on location overseas, Reese has been getting a little antsy about being alone too much these days. Some have even been using the word ‘clingy’. Ouch! Jake is currently dashing between England and Morocco for his latest film ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’ and this issue alone seems to be causing this poster couple of cuteness some heart troubles. Reese doesn’t like him being away, and recently headed off to London to visit him, but sources say it was more about keeping tabs on him than actually wanting to be with him. Yes, even Reese Witherspoon has her own insecurities, but why would she need to keep tabs on him? When they are apart for too long, Reese gets worried and dashes to the nearest airport to get as close to him as she can. And this neediness and clinginess is getting on Jake’s nerves. Needy and clingy are words I never thought I’d think of with Reese, but you know how it goes….even the prettiest most together girls worry I guess. But does she really have anything to worry about? It’s come to the point where the dogs must be separated at walk time, and Reese has also hired a personal trainer for her Ol’ Blue Eyes in hopes that the two dogs will learn to live in harmony. Oh sigh, what is to become of them. Are Reese and Jake going to have to go their separate ways for the sake of Frank and Atticus? I don’t see that happening. And HONESTLY. If THIS is their biggest problem….sheeshhhh
