Eva Mendes is seen here looking like nothing less than her glamorous self at the Macy’s 150th Birthday Celebration Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. And yes, this red she is wearing is definitely stunning, but Eva hasn’t just been wearing red, she has been seeing it as well. Particularly when it comes down to a cat fight that may be brewing between her and Salma Hayek. It sounds like Eva is more than a little disgruntled over the choice of baby names given to Salma’s daughter, and that Eva is furious with Salma for taking ‘her’ baby name. Salma’s daughter’s name is of course Valentina Paloma, and Eva has blasted Salma for baby name stealing. What?? Is it just me or does it feel like we are stuck in a rerun of Sex and the City?? Baby Valentina, Salma’s child is now a year old, and was born in September 2007. Eva and Salma are apparently very good friends, and Eva had disclosed her future baby name to Salma at some point in their friendship. Eva says she blasted Salma when she found out:

Salma took my baby name. Valentina Paloma. I was like, ‘Salma, you took my baby name!’ And she’s all, ‘What are your other ones so that I don’t take them’

Oh brother. So I guess the answer is yes we ARE in fact stuck in a Sex and the City episode. And considering that Eva doesn’t even HAVE children, I think we know who wins this battle. But Eva says that despite this little wrinkle in their friendship with the baby name thing, she still respects Salma immensely and still considers her a true friend. She says that of all Hollywood starlets, Salma is the one she looks up to, that she has gone about her career the right way and that she respects her completely. She considers Salma one of the most inspirational women in the world, and so, despite the baby name broo ha ha, this won’t come between them. Awww….sounds like a whole lot of huballoo about nothing then. Doncha just wish some days you had these problems??

Salma Hayek is seen here just days after a huge announcement came down that she was suddenly going to be doing the single mom thing, as she had just split with fiancé Francois Henri Pinault, who happens to be the father of her little Valentina. Valentina is just turned one, so it seemed a little strange that a couple *so in love* would be so quick as to split up so publicly. However, they did in fact split up, because you know when their ‘people’ are talking about it, then it’s official news. But you would never guess they weren’t together with the way they have been acting lately, suggesting a little bit of rekindled sparks so to speak. On Tuesday morning, Salma was seen hitting the Balenciaga show for Paris Fashion Week, and she brought along a very special guest, yes, ex fiancé Francois Henri Pinault. Francois is of course the owner of the fashion house, and I guess it never hurts to have some good threads weaving through domestic bliss, but what has happened here? All reports say the couple looked fabulous together, very happy and oddly friendly. There was no hugging, or hand holding, or anything of the sort, but keep in mind they KNOW people are watching, and they were there together, as this had nothing to do with little Valentina who obviously did not attend the event. This event comes just weeks after the couple were seen in Los Angeles together, where they went to dinner together. And this is not the only time the two have been getting cozy, as they also went to Paris together so that Francois’ family could meet baby Valentina. And actually, it sounds like these events aren’t the only ones. Getting tea here, hanging out with Valentina there, shopping, going for walks, and on and on. Soooo….even though they may not be ACTING all cozy and canoodly *cough* in public… I know there’s something up here.

Salma Hayek is seen her enjoying some mommy and me time with her baby daughter Valentina at Taverna Tony’s club in Malibu. And yes, both of them are as pretty as ever. Salma apparently has quite a lot on her plate these days as she awaits the release of her latest work ‘Cirque du Freak’ due in theaters later this year. She also has some woes on the personal front it seems, as, after recently announcing her engagement to billionaire Francois Henry Pinault, the two seem to have called it quits. The engagement is officially off. The couple have their 10 month old daughter, Valentina together, so my guess is that parenting duties will be worked out, but they will no longer do so ‘as a team’. Their reps are both stating the official end of the engagement, but no further comment is being released. Salma has been known to say that a marriage hasn’t always been necessary, that she doesn’t see the need and that she just wants to grow old with someone, paper or no. However, the fact that Valentina’s daddy lives in Paris, and Salma and the baby do not, may be huge factors in the split. We may never know the real story, but in the meantime, Salma is picking up the pieces as a new single mom.

In a recent trip abroad, it seems that Salma Hayak had some woes. She lost her laptop, and is desperate to get it back. Of course, anyone that loses their laptop probably feels the world coming to an end, however, the average layperson does not have private photos that could be sold for a small fortune located on their laptop. Her laptop is filled with photos of friends, family, and little Valentina who was born in September. Every parent’s nightmare of course is that pictures of their baby will fall into the wrong hands, but when you are a celebrity, it’s even worse. So she must be losing her mind. Of course, the police are investigating, but you know, it will probably be a miracle if it shows up at this point. Let’s hope her laptop did not find the dark side for her sake….

Here’s Salma Hayek in what is probably just a few days before she gets ready to pop. WOW! No mistakes here on her mommy-to-be status. But pop indeed she has and she and Francois Henri Pinault are the proud parents of baby girl Valentina Paloma Pinault. Both mom and baby are doing very well, her publicist reports. This is the first child for the 41 year old executive producer of Ugly Betty, and the 3rd for Pinault. He has two children from a previous marriage that ended in 2004. We first got wind of the pregnancy around March which is around the same time the two announced their engagement. Congratulations Salma and Francois, and Happy Birthday little Valentina!!
