This is one of those stories that makes you go ewwwww…..but an all too common tale when it comes to celebrities. We all have heard the regales of folks that rummage through the celebrity trash to get that half eaten piece of pizza…or whatever they can get their hands on. For Scarlett Johansson, she put her trash to good use, and decided to auction it off for charity. And, guess she couldn’t come up with any decent trash, or at least trash that she wanted the world to see, because the best she could come up with was a used tissue. And by used, we mean, used. And we all know what tissues are for, do we not? That’s right. Scarlett Johansson generously forked over a wad of paper that she had, something on, and auctioned it off for the charity USA Harvest. But that’s not even the shocking part. The shocking part of this story is that her snootie wad fetched a whopping $6490 at the eBay charity site!! That’s right! And the folks were fightin for it! Bidding for her tissue debris began at $1.21 and just hours before the auction ended was sitting at $4959. The final price of almost $6500 was found after 83 bids had been placed. In this auction, bidders had to be preapproved before they were allowed to put in an offer, and of course, the lucky winner remains anonymous. I would hope so, and I hope it remains that way. I do NOT want to know the person that is carrying around someone’s used snot trash. ANYONE’S used snot trash. And I am sure Scarlett is laughing her way through it all. But who even donates that? Oh, you’d like to raise some money for charity? Here’s my trash. Nice. Looks like her latest finding on Maxim’s Young Hot Hollywood 2009 list may have gone to her head a wee bit. I don’t know…is it just me, or is this all just soooo nasty.

Yes, life is rough when you are one of the pretty people, as Scarlett Johansson is seen here being flanked by both Dolce and Gabbana earlier this year at the elite Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, an event often referred to as the Oscars of fashion. And this event in April occurred only days after Scarlett announced an engagement with long time boyfriend, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds. Being a heavy Barack Obama supporter, there was much talk that Scarlett wanted to wait until after the elections in November to tie the knot with Ryan, but it sounds like Ryan may have convinced her otherwise. Scarlett and Ryan made their commitment official, and permanent in the ‘till death do us part’ way by getting married in a secret and intimate wedding this weekend. The couple got married in Vancouver, Ryan’s home town, at a wilderness resort on Saturday. And it was one of the more intimate celebrity weddings with only immediate family in attendance. It’s nice to see that this wasn’t going to be one of those prolonged engagements that extend to the point where you really wonder if it’s ever going to happen, because once she made the comment about the elections taking precedence, I had my doubts about these two. But they are happier than ever, as they should be, and we wish them nothing but the best. Many congrats out to Scarlett and Ryan!

It seems that ever since Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds got engaged, all they have been doing is putting it off. They rarely talk about it and when they do, they are on the hedgy side of the when it is all going to happen. At the same time, both Scarlett and Ryan DO like to talk about how strong they are in the support of the Obama Barack campaign and now it seems that all of these things are coming together. The two have now officially said, together, that they will be putting the wedding off…again….until after the U.S. Presidential election. Okaaaayyyy…..Scarlett’s twin brother Hunter is also hot on the heels of the Obama campaign and by the way they are talking, you would think THEY were running for President. It would make sense for a Presidential candidate THEMSELVES to put off a wedding in the midst of the campaign trail, but supporters? It seems a little weird to me, and perhaps may be just another excuse. Or perhaps that IS the real reason and then…we’re back to weird. Okay well, it’s Hollywood, whatever. The tentative date as it stands now is November 22 and the happy couple will wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Scarlett’s hometown of New York City. A Jewish wedding in New York City with celebrities? Don’t expect this to be a small affair…..Stay tuned girls and boys!

Scarlett Johansson is definitely a Hollywood A Lister and she is showing off her true A list status at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ held at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood California. And Scarlett has been under some heat a little bit lately as she has been attempting to use her A list status to show her support for Presidential candidate Obama Barrack. She has sent some emails to him, or his office, in light of her support and it sounds like it has been blown way out of proportion. She does not in fact have an ‘email relationship’ with Obama, as has been implied, and in fact only one email from her was received by him, after it had been turned over to him by one of his administrative assistants. She doesn’t even have access to his personal email, so why she told the website Politico that she and he had been trading emails seems a little bizarre. But whatever…in other Scarlett news she is drunk with joy over her recent engagement to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, and hopes her honorary Canadian status once the marriage is official will ‘get her something’ in terms of Canadian benefits. She loves Canada and thus hopes one of her benefits will be easier border crossings as she goes through immigration. This is almost laughable, as Americans and Canadians have actually little to no trouble at all crossing either borders, and her new stack of paperwork may actually make things more tedious when it comes time to chat it up with immigration. And to my knowledge, there are few Canadian benefits to ‘marrying Canadian’. Unless maybe she’ll get a new beaver hat or something. Who knows?
