You would never guess that Shanna and Travis were ex-spouses this week as Shanna has worked quickly to act as a tremendous support aide to Travis Barker in his time of need. Upon hearing of the plane crash that killed four people, and seriously injured Travis Barker and DJ AM this past weekend, Shanna was devastated but pulled herself together to rush to Travis’s side at the burn unit in Georgia. I don’t know, I have always had a hunch about these two, they just can’t seem to stay apart, and disaster does have a tendency to bring people closer together. This tragedy may be something that sees a reunion of these two. Shanna has rushed to Travis’s side and is working hard to lift his spirits. Travis is not just dealing with the post-trauma of a plane crash, but also coping and struggling with the loss of one of his best friends, and personal assistant Chris Baker who died in the crash. Shanna describes Chris as a family member to them, and they are both torn about his death. But Shanna is working very hard to keep herself together for the sake of Travis, and for the sake of their family that includes two small children Landon who is 4 and Alabama who is 2. But Travis is not the only one that is getting rekindled support. DJ AM has been blessed with the good heart of ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore who has rushed to his side following the crash as well. Both of the men are still in critical but stable condition, and between the hands of the doctors and the good folks at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, and these two women with big hearts, it sounds like they are in very good hands.

Since the devastating plane crash involving a private Learjet occurred in South Carolina’s Columbia Airport Friday night, fans of Travis Barker and DJ AM have been anxiously awaiting to hear on the status of their conditions. Following the crash, Travivs and DJ AM were taken to a burn unit in Augusta, Georgia in critical condition. As it stands now, both rockers are doing very well and doctors on the case state that considering both Barker and DJ AM were in good health to begin with, and did not suffer any additional crash related complications, a full recovery is expected for both of them. With significant burn injuries, doctors say that a full recovery for both rockers could take up to a year, but given their health, recovery is expected much earlier. Travis has suffered severe burns on his torso as well as his lower body, and DJ AM experienced burns on his arm and on a portion of his head. Both of the guys are still listed as critical and remain in the Intensive Care Unit, however, their condition has stabilized and they are doing as well as can be hoped for. As far as their emotional state is concerned, doctors report that 45% of all burn victims experience emotional distress, and when you add a plane crash on top of that, distress and trauma is to be expected. On Saturday morning, Shanna Moakler, Travis’ ex-wife and mother of his two young children, flew to his side to assist him during his recovery. The plane crash involved a total of six people on flight, and these names have since been released. The six people on the plane were pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31; co-pilot James Bland, 52, security guard Charles Still, 25, Travis’s assistant Chris Baker, 29; and of course Travis Barker and DJ AM. Since the crash, rumors have circulated that the group had taken the private Learjet upon hearing that Travis’s assistant Chris had just received news that his wife was going into labor. Travis does not normally fly in private planes, but it was said that this emergency situation led him to make an exception for his assistant Chris Baker. It has been confirmed that Chris Baker’s wife is pregnant, and that he is survived by one other very small child, but there is no confirmation as to whether that was the cause of them taking the private jet to begin with. As far as the crash itself is concerned, the crash is still under investigation, though reports from air traffic control indicate that some sparks were seen coming from the runway upon takeoff, and that the plane itself overran the airstrip and ran into a number of airport lights and antenna. Investigators are not sure if the sparks were from the engines or from the aircraft itself. It has been said that DJ AM and Travis are the only survivors due to the fact that they jumped out of the door of the burning plane almost immediately after the private jet came to a halt. Our deepest sympathies go to those that lost loved ones in this horrific incident, and our best wishes to Travis, DJ AM, and their families that the two will experience a swift and full recovery.

Travis Barker and DJ AM were aboard a Lear Jet plane that crashed shortly after takeoff out of Columbia, South Carolina airport last night. The crash killed at least four people and the two rock stars have survived but are critically injured and being treated in a burn unit. Travis a former drummer from the rock band Blink 182 and also star of the MTV reality show ‘Meet the Barkers’. He has been performing for a college event on Friday evening with Perry Farrell, former Jane’s Addiction singer, as well as Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM. Travis was taken to a burn unit in August Georgia and as of this morning is listed in critical condition. DJ AM also was admitted to the burn unit and as well is in critical condition. Reps for Gavin DeGraw and Perry Farrell state that neither of these rock stars were on board the plane. Four fatalities resulted from the crash including two on board passengers as well as two crew members and have not yet been identified. Critical but stable is how the conditions of Travis and DJ AM are being listed, though it is believed that Travis’s injuries are more severe as he was airlifted immediately to the burn unit while DJ AM arrived by ground transportation. This year Travis finalized his divorce to former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, and the couple have two very young children together – Landon Asher who is three, and Alabama Luella who is two. DJ AM, legally known as Adam Goldstein, has never been married but is well known for a highly publicized engagement with Nicole Richie. Our hearts and prayers are with the families that lost loved ones. As well our prayers go to both Travis Barker and DJ AM for a speedy and full recovery so that little Landon and Alabama can have their daddy home soon.
The on-again/off-again marriage between Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler is officially OFF. While attending the 5th Annual Roots Jam for Rock the Vote in West Hollywood this weekend, Travis Barker told People Magazine that their divorce was finalized a few days ago. Of course People prodded him hoping that he would shed some light on any new romance he’s got going, but he kept pretty mum about that. He says he’s got a beautiful son and beautiful daughter ‘at home’ and says that’s where his head is right now and that he doesn’t have time for anything else. Travis is referring to Landon who’s 4, and Alabama who is 2, the children he shares with Shanna Moakler. But hm. Two children at home? Does this mean Travis got custody? No details out on that yet.

A while back we reported about how Shanna Moakler was broken up about her break-up with Travis Barker. I think the two have a few kids in tow as well, so she was especially torn about the whole single mom thing. NOT that I can see her being on welfare anytime soon, she isn’t exactly your stereotypical single mom. However the word is out that Travis and Shanna are giving it another go, or at least the rumor mill is churning that one out. They were spotted doing the infamous canoodle at the MTV affair the other night looking cute enough to almost make you barf. Almost. I think what ACTUALLY makes me want to barf is that Shanna’s eyeliner matches precisely with Travis’s lovely tattoos. Too cute or WHAT? Ah, how romantic that one would match their makeup to their man’s body art. YAK. Let’s see where this on-again/off-again thing goes, shall we?
