Oh this always happens to the shows you love, and the characters you love the most doesn’t it? Whitney Port was always one of my faves from The Hills because she seemed to be the only one that ever had her head on straight. And this groundedness may be just the reason that she is leaving The Hills. But you won’t be missing her for too long, as the rumors that she is kicking into a Hills spinoff are true. We have seen Whitney do the bicoastal lifestyle for a while now with her new job at People’s Revolution, and it turns out that the bicoastal thing is turning into a permanent move for her, but not with People’s Revolution. The result for her fans? A spinoff to The Hills known as naturally, The City. The City will follow Whitney as she makes the permanent move to the Big Apple, works in a fashion house, reunites with old friends, and revamps her love life. Now THAT will be something I look forward to, I always thought this girl deserved a little more fun than we were seeing. But Whitney will no longer be working for People’s Revolution which may be a good thing for her. Nope, she is moving on up the fashion ladder and will be working for another female powerhouse, none other than Diane Von Furstenberg. Oh, my heart! Could I BE any more jealous? At any rate, this new job and new life will be very exciting for Whitney, and for her fans. As we know, The Hills itself is a spinoff to Laguna Beach, when LC, the affectionate nickname of Lauren Conrad won over fans and moved to The Hills to pursue work at Teen Vogue. Incidentally, nobody in Lauren’s real life actually call her that, but you know how these things stick. I am sure we will see Whitney end up with a few nicknames for herself as well…in the meantime, she’s giving us something great to look forward to!

From what we have seen the last few episodes of The Hills, Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad seemed to have patched things up a little bit when it comes to the ever growing bridge in their friendship. Though recent events seem to indicate otherwise, and it seems that the two may even be fighting over a boy. Yes, this is interesting news of late, considering Lauren is ticked at Stephanie for doing the unthinkable and chasing down one of her exes, but wellll….Lauren may have broken her own friendship rule when it comes to Audrina’s man. We’ve seen Audrina hanging out with Justin Bobby quite a bit, both last season and this season, but there is no exclusive arrangement between the two, and Audrina has enjoyed much time with other boys. And Lauren has capitalized on this, we think, and the two are ‘sparring’ with each other on their MySpace pages. This has all been due to some Internet rumors that Lauren has been hooking up with Justin, and this is what Audrina has to say via MySpace:

“These rumors are very confusing and hurtful,” she writes in a post on Friday. “I’m not sure what to believe,” she writes, noting that she and Justin Bobby “have not been exclusive for quite some time.”

But what is really going on between Audrina and Justin? They still seem to be going hot and heavy, so why doesn’t she just ask HIM? Oh right, because men are so honest, right? Well you know. Those two WERE spotted at West Hollywood’s Crown bar just recently where onlookers said they were inseparable all night, and were giggling and hand holding and doing all sorts of crazy things together. So if Justin can’t be honest, Lauren wants to set the record straight.

“This accusation is insulting on so many levels. I’m being accused of being a bad friend, a slut and a liar all at once. It would actually be funny to me if people weren’t taking it seriously. I did not and would never hook up with Justin.”

So that was Lauren’s message to the public. What did she have to say to Audrina?

“We promised we wouldn’t let people get into our ears and make us fight,” she wrote. “You KNOW I didn’t do this and I have never given you a reason not to trust me. What you are doing is hurtful and I don’t want to fight with you.”

Hmmm…sounds like the two have some issues to work out. And since they are supposed to kind of be BFF, they may want to take this out of the public eye and just DEAL. Of course then, what would WE have to talk about?

American Idol Fans Discuss the Gay Clay ‘Situation’ ~ Hollywire

Here we have one of those shows that is pure marketing genius. It’s one of those new old shows, you know, a show revisited and revamped from the past. The CW is garnering both old fans and new fans from their demographic pool, and since hot teens with too much money on their hands seems to be a fantastic niche in today’s prime time programming, 90210 is touted to be a success. Those that loved the old version (it’s ok to say you did, it WON’T age you) will enjoy seeing former originals making guest star appearances, while those that are newcomers to the Hills of Beverly will love the hot new cast. And this season seems to have all the ingredients the show needs to be a big time hit. Will it bump out similar shows like The Hills and Gossip Girl? Still too soon to tell at this point, as the young starlets on 90210 still have a little bit to prove. The show kicked off the season last week with a hot 2 hour season opener with all the good stuff – the good girl, the bad girl, the good guy, the bad guy, and an interesting development with the standard teen drama love triangle. Other characters that make this show interesting are the classic high school girl that is so ‘misunderstood’ with our character of Silver, and a heavy mix on the plotlines in the adult lives, something you won’t see on either Gossip Girl or The Hills. Last night’s episode focused more on what was going on with the more mature generation, making sure to hang on to those old fans demographics, while the young teen triangle was definitely there to remind the newer fans that no, we haven’t forgotten you. Original cast members like Jennie Garth as the former bad girl gone good, and Shannon Doherty all combine to make this for a very interesting show to keep an eye on. And because this show is more new than old, it is hard to say how this one will fare, but I would have to say, there is a very good chance at giving Gossip Girl and The Hills a run for their money. Should a new It Girl or Boy arise from this hot new cast, it would not surprise me in the least. Keep watching, you will see this one gain momentum, just don’t forget the friends you love to hate on the Upper East Side while you are at it….

For any American Idol fan, Ryan Seacrest is a household name, and during the AI season, is said and repeated several times weekly. Since his exposure on American Idol, Ryan has gone on to do a huge amount of work in the entertainment industry and has been very successful in entertainment news, and in the production of many hit reality shows for the stars such as ‘Denise Richards: It’s Complicated’. It is no secret that Ryan’s career has skyrocketed in lightyears, all thanks to American Idol, and sources are now saying that this ‘overnight fame’ has caused some eyes to go green with envy for Simon Cowell. Ryan says he enjoys a healthy competitive relationship with Simon, but Simon on the other hand, is said to be not so pleased with how things are faring for Ryan these days…

Ryan says: “If anything in my life is positive in terms of business, Simon actually feels a pain in his stomach or his side. If we’re in a restaurant Simon will get up and walk outside. He doesn’t want to hear it. He does not want to be around if a good phone call comes in.”

Ryan has also been the victim of incessant gay jokes during the judging of American Idol, but says he’s not bothered by it. In fact, he encourages it, no publicity is bad, right? He says ‘I’m short, I’m fat, I’m tanned…I don’t mind at all.” Who told Ryan Seacrest he was fat though I wonder?? In the end, Ryan is a workaholic because he loves what he does. His secret? Hard work, and being in the right place at the right time, with the willingness to put in the time and energy to get what you want. And as for Simon, Ryan says pffttt.
